It’s got some upgraded features. If you look at the descriptions on Halfords I think one of them is side protection is increased by 25%.

@User79853257976 thank you! God knows why I never actually thought of halfords 🙈

That is not correct, with Cybex, the plus is literally just the premium fabric, whereas the one without plus has a cheaper, more polyester-y fabric and fewer colour choices. Normally about £20 difference in price between the plus/normal fabrics. Then you pay through the nose if you want the fancy designer ones (!)

The side impact protection being improved by 25% refers to the pop out side thing which is present on both models.

I used to work at a car seat shop :)

@BertieBotts thank you! Thats really helpful. I liked the cybex one a lot better than the maxi cosi new one.. i had the maxi cosi marble recliner with my last baby and hated it! Fabric started bobbling within days and the foam inside actually broke off.

Hoping cybex is a good bet this time

The plus is a breathable fabric. It doesn't affect safety. I just got the leaf green plus, because I liked the colour and for £20 at those prices, I thought it was worth it.
Baby isn't born yet, so its sitting in my house untested.

Hi you should join the Facebook group car seat safety Uk they are a fountain of knowledge on car seats and also great learning resource

Yes, I like the basic Maxi Cosi ones like the Pebble range. Their fuller-featured ones always seem to miss the mark slightly which is a shame.

The Cybex reclining one is nice and so is the Britax. The new Besafe Go Beyond is worth a look, too.
