Do friendship groups often have same baby genders?

Hey, bit of a random one and have no idea if any science around it but wondering if anyone else has the same?

We're some of the last of our friends to get pregnant and have a baby due to fertility issues etc. But my husband plays five a side football every Wed and all the boys so 6 of them are having a baby between August and Nov and then we are Jan 25. We are really hoping for a boy due to various genetic reasons but also its all my intuition is saying its a boy. Anyway last night he was chatting and the 5 who are having babies these year are all having boys.
So I'm wondering has anyone else had it where all friendship group had same sex around same time?
All our friends this year bar 1 have had boys so around 10 boys and 1 girl. It makes us think is 24 year of boys and 25 year of girls and we'll have a girl or is it just coincidence?
Just interested to know if other people's friendship groups all had the same.
I know my OH will love whatever baby but he is excited to have a boy especially as all the boys having boys.

It's coincidence but it does seem to come in waves. I was on another forum when i was having my babies and we did seem to go through a phase of all boys when i was due with DS!

There do always seem to be clusters, but you never know when the one cluster ends and the next cluster begins! On my husband's side, the last 5 babies have all been girls. We're expecting again but who knows if the girls will continue or if we'll start the wave of boys! Please don't worry about what you are having though, whatever you have will feel like it was meant to be once they have arrived with you

I know 5 women right now who are pregnant (plus me), out of the 6 of us, 5 are having girls - I'm having a boy.

I was hoping I'd also have a girl (to get one of each) and stupidly assumed what's the chances of being the odd one out, since i've always seen it in waves of boys and girls (my other son was born in a wave of boys).

I think its just a 50/50 chance regardless of coincidence of having groups of the same sex.

It's funny how it goes like that! For my first and third it was all boys in the wards, my dd1 was the only girl out of 3 wards of the maternity hospital! My third was a boy and it was all boys on the ward. My 4th was a girl and it was all girls in the ward.
Also within my friendship group 5 of us had girls as first babies! I think it's a coincidence but it is very strange.

It does seem to be cyclical. We just had a big week-long family reunion, there are 13 in the next generation so far, 10 boys and 3 girls. My DIL's brother just had a baby, also a boy.

While I've heard that women in the same house will have their cycles sync (it worked that way in ours), I've never heard anything about men in the same friendship group producing mostly one sex or another.

Two of my closest friends had babies last year and they both had boys.

I have two boys and am expecting a girl this time. I know 3 other people who are pregnant right now and 3 of us are having girls and one is having a boy.

No I haven't noticed this at all. Always been a mix with my friends - the only thing I found slightly surprising is that everyone I know with 2 + kids has mixed sexes, whereas I had all boys! I always thought it was "hard" to have one of each, yet nearly all my friends have that exact pairing! Not that it matters, I just find it interesting.

Yeah it's a bit weird. So this year 11 of our friends who are mainly my husbands has had babies or due and it's 10 boys 1 girl. 1 just told him now as he's out with some he's having a boy. Sees 2024 is year of the boy so I'm now fully expecting us to have a girl as we're 2025 🤣 I know we'd love whatever baby but I think my husband doesn't want to be the only girl dad in his group haha.

Ahh yeah so same with us those on their 2nd all had girls first and now having boys one of each. So My husbands uni friends all had girls like 3 years ago and there 2nds due this year are boys.

Must be something in the water..

I feel like everyone apart from me is having a girl right now 😂 I know 6 other women having a baby in September or October and they are all expecting a girl. All friends or colleagues of mine but only 3 of us are a friendship group. The rest don’t know each other. I do have one friend expecting a boy in November.

I am also the only woman expecting a boy in my NCT group! So that’s another 7 in addition to the 6.

I was thinking how funny it is that it seems so weighted to girls amongst people I know but the overall population still balances out at roughly 50/50.
