Spotting at 6 weeks

I am 6 weeks today. Last night I had a small amount of red/pink spotting. It stopped after a couple wipes and there’s nothing there now. I felt a bit crampy too. I immediately panicked at sent a self referral online to EPU which stated they get back to you within 24 hours. If the bleeding fills a pad you go to A&E

Last pregnancy I had spotting all throughout and it was a nightmare having to go to EPU and triage constantly! They diagnosed me with cervical ectropion which I understand can cause spotting due to the cervical changes / irritation. DP isn’t concerned and believes it’s just the spotting I had last pregnancy.

I wanted to ask obviously it’s really worrying and it’s hard not to think of the worst.
Has anyone else been through this or going through it currently? Looking to hear some stories!

Hi, I had spotting every few days from my week 6 although on progesterone!
I am still having the spotting in 13 weeks some days and very light.
the baby is doing well.
they said I had a hemathoma and that might be the reson.
each time I wipe and see some blood I panick though.
I had several scans from 6 weeks which was reassuring.
It would be great if you can get a private early scan just to be sure things look well.

I wanted to update if anyone else comes across this post! No spotting since but I have a right hand lower back dull ache. I contacted GP this morning who has been amazing. She contacted EPU for me and they suggested to keep an eye until 5pm, if dull ache doesn’t go away then I can go to A&E and EPU will see me there 😊 I remember this dull ache with my first child so I’m not too concerned. But I also do want to be seen by EPU so I can possibly have an early scan.

I'm 7 weeks tomorrow and starting spotting yesterday. It absolutely terrified me. I was also told to wear a pad and if the blood fills the pad then to call back and the drs will see me.

I have a scan tomorrow morning so I'm praying everything will be fine.

Discharge is really light and only see it when I wipe but it is really scary!

Yes is really is scary and it is hard not to think worst case scenario at times like this. Early pregnancy is such a big worry.

Good luck for your scan tomorrow. Thankfully you don’t have to wait too long.
Will this be through early pregnancy unit?
I am hoping my pain subsides so I don’t HAVE to have a scan right now as 6 weeks is very very early. I’d rather wait another week.

Yeah it's through EPU, I had a scan with them last Friday also as this pregnancy was with taking clomid so they have to see me anyway before they can't discharge me from fertility.
I never had any spotting with my first pregnancy (conceived natural)
Are you still having pregnancy symptoms with the spotting? Xxx

I’m feeling better so far, pain has gone and no more spotting so far 🤞 I have sore boobs, nausea and tiredness. Have you got any symptoms?

Going to give it another couple hours to see if I get any pain and whether to go down to A&E. DP now thinks I should go anyway to get checked.

Would you still go if no pain or spotting just in case? X

I wanted to give another update incase anyone watching

EPU called me and said because I’ve no pain or bleeding now, I can just monitor myself for the next 3 days. She reassured me it’s not ‘normal’ to spot but it’s very common at this stage. I did think as much.
So fingers crossed it stays this way!

Just thought I'd share my ongoing story. I'm 6+1 had spotting last few days but no cramping. My midwife has booked me in for an early scan next week regardless of if I'm still spotting. My scan will be at 6+5 based on my own calculations or 7+2 based on LMP

I thought I'd pop on and update.
I have been spotting since Wednesday and went for a scan today.

All is fine and heart beat was beating away ☺️

Nurse said that sometimes there can be old blood clots that come down, not to be concerned unless it's a large amount of fresh blood.

I am 6+1 and had a scan today. Everything looked as it should and I’m going back at 8 weeks for another scan! I’m excited it was so lovely seeing my little pea haha

I will be 8 weeks on Friday 😊 I'm still spotting but I'm chilled about it now. Still have pregnancy symptoms and there getting worse especially the sickness and fatigue 😔 but I'm so happy to be pregnant.

That’s exciting you’re coming up to 8 weeks. I will be 7 weeks tomorrow 😊 I have another scan at 8 weeks which I’m excited for.
I had some spotting again last Friday after my 6 week scan which I expected but nothing since. I’m also really relaxed about it because it’s just so common and I know myself. I have really bad tiredness and sore boobs , very mild nausea. It really is feeling real now and sinking in!
