hi currently 30 weeks pregnant with DS, never experienced any thing like this with my first DD but I seem to be getting quite a lot of new freckles that are darker than my original ones, has anyone else experienced this?
thanks

Yes on both my pregnancies. It's fairly common so I wouldn't worry unless they are odd looking xx

Hey thanks for replying, they seem to just be a lot darker than my original ones that I did have already but I assume it’s just the hormones then? Because I never had it with my first I’m obviously just freaking out I suppose!

I developed these in my second pregnancy too and remain more freckled than not now, having had about 6 freckles total previously 😅 No tummy line though weirdly

Yes! Skin pigmentation can change a lot during pregnancy. Often returns to normal after birth. But like how it can get oilier/drier and hair can change too. Bodies are weird…

Same as me! No tummy line in either pregnancy’s but god every time I check my body at the minute I have at least 1 or 2 new freckles that are so dark compared to my original ones! And some of my original ones just seem to be getting bigger also it’s the weirdest thing ever like how?! lol

Loads of new moles, much to my delight (not). NHS website says hormonal changes such as pregnancies can cause them. I did get mine checked by the GP to be safe.

Also this week battling some sort of pregnancy/heat rash, DS is doing really strange things to my body compared to my first and it’s stressing me out! Haha

I had a seborrheic keratosis (GP diagnosed) on my back that I managed to absentmindedly scratch off during my first pregnancy. It stayed away until my second pregnancy 5 years later - also absentmindedly scratched off 🤦‍♀️ it has yet to make a reappearance nearly 18 months later

ughhh i sympathise. I get heat rash when i go in the sea (change from hot body to colder water) even when not pregnant and it’s horrible.

Hi
previous freckles and a mole I had got bigger and darker during pregnancy. I had the mole removed a few weeks ago (6 months postpartum) as I was worried. I went private as I just wanted it off without waiting, the surgeon was a skin cancer specialist and said it’s very common for moles to change and he could tell by looking at it it was benign, I still had it tested and luckily it was fine.

It's just a type of freckle that feels bumpy and is quite dark. Absolutely nothing to worry about!
