SOS all day all night nausea

Hi šŸ‘‹šŸ¼ I am 6+4 and I am having all day nausea and then waking in the night feeling the same. I’m not being sick but I have a fuzzy head and nausea. Sometimes I wish I was actually sick to relieve it. What do people do? I have tried snacking, ginger biscuits. I am struggling so much at work and they are not very understanding. I am now really anxious about the working week. I should feel so happy but I’m feeling miserable and feel guilty feeling like this x

You poor thing - that first month or two can be horrendous. I can't remember what relieved
it with my first but my second I would just suck on sweets all day šŸ˜…

Probably not the best for my teeth but neither is throwing up šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

I used to do it the most when doing the dishes or cooking etc is the smells just really triggered the nausea - I don't miss those days!

Go to your GP for medication. Unfortunately nothing else works, and even that only took the edge off when I was at my worst.

SantasRubiksCube · 28/07/2024 22:10

Cyclizine was the only thing that helped me when I had horrendous nausea in two pregnancies, but like another poster said it only takes the edge off and unfortunately comes with it's own side effects (it made me quite drowsy at times). You have my sympathy as it can really be a miserable, lonely place to be in and you don't believe it at the time but it will get better šŸ’

Joleyjojo · 30/07/2024 18:50

Thank you. I have been to the GPS and been prescribed one for the day which apparently shouldn’t make me drowsy , however it definitely does. Also cyclizene at bed time as I am waking up with nausea in the night. I was literally dropping off at my desk today, I think it may have taken the edge off but I felt equally as awful drowsy. I hate being so upset and miserable when it’s a truly magical happy time. I’m really not enjoying the first trimester at all . Xxx

Cyclizine works really well.
You can take it three times a day.

If you're too sick or tired at the moment, get signed off.

Seeline · 30/07/2024 18:54

Give it a few days - you can get used to the drowsiness. But if the meds aren't working go back to your GP - there are several different ones to try. I do sympathise I had 24/7 nausea with my first, and was sick multiple times day and night. It doesn't ease the nausea at all though. This was over 20 years ago and they didn't give medication then.

I had a Chemical pregnancy the cycle before this BFP and was signed off for a couple of weeks as I really struggled emotionally. I just feel that I can’t get signed off again because work will just think I am an absolute joke. It’s horrible feeling like this and worrying about everything else but myself xx

Who cares what work thinks?
You're entitled to sick leave whenever you're sick, @Joleyjojo

Well looks like I am going to miscarry. Went for private scan measured 7+1 today which is exactly what it would be but no heartbeat. I have been referred to EPAU tomorrow but will be the case of going through a miss arrowhead soon . I’m still feeling sick so that’s rubbish too x

Try sea bands they was the only thing that worked for me I still wear them now at 32 weeks pregnant as some mornings I still wake feeling a little sick x

muddlingthrou · 02/08/2024 09:24

@Joleyjojo - I'm so so sorry, that's terrible. Sending you strength xx

TheShellBeach · 03/08/2024 19:08

Oh no @Joleyjojo I'm so sorry.
That's very sad.

How are you @Joleyjojo

Did you go to the EPU?

Joleyjojo · 05/08/2024 17:59

Just an update from me. The private clinic told me we had lost our baby I was referred to the hospital for MC management. The hospital did a scan and found a baby and a heartbeat and a yolk sack (the private clinic stated that couldn’t see a yolk sack either). The dates are about 6 days off so I am having a further scan on Friday. I am assuming the slight spotting was from the irritation of the internal probe. I cannot believe our little miracle was there all along. The private clinic was measuring a small chorionic gestational sac bump And didn’t find the baby. They must of been so convinced that what they had found was correct they didn’t look around a bit more. Xx

I'm so glad to see your update!

Those private scan places should be shut down. There are too many threads on here where women are given completely wrong information.

TheShellBeach · 05/08/2024 18:15

When you said you were still feeling very sick, I had a feeling that you were still pregnant.
