Ice skating when pregnant

I’m four weeks pregnant and really unsure about what do with my ice skating lessons for the next few weeks. I’ve heard that in the first trimester the baby is fairly tucked away and safe. I don’t want to risk the pregnancy but I love my skating lessons so don’t want to stop them earlier than necessary. I’m an adult beginner so I’m not doing anything wild, and I rarely fall. Has anyone been similar and had any advice about what to do?

Congrats! I'd go for it. I went skiing at 6 weeks and it was fine, I was just more cautious. And I played netball til 25 weeks. The baby will be absolutely fine, just look after yourself and be aware your balance could be a bit off! I fell over just walking down the street the other day (now 35 weeks!) so even if you don't do sports you can fall - may as well enjoy what you enjoy whilst you can!

I went roller blading (like, a lot) in the first trimester, over ramps and even part of a pump track. I've given it up in the second tho, purely because my balance is off with this watermelon in front of me 😂

If you feel up to it, go for it.

That’s amazing thank you both! Especially because I’ve prepaid for the block of lessons 😂
