Am I pregnant?!

Hey ladies,
just joined this forum as I am completely lost.
I was due my period on 4th July which never happened. My cycle is like clockwork every 28 days. My previous period was on 7th June. I had 2 weeks of nothing at all and then I spotted on 15th July. There was a pinkish mark on my sanitary towel. Nothing in my urine, seemed clear to look at, however when I wiped I had light pinkish coloured discharge on the tissue. Then I had nothing for couple of days and then on the 17th I got slight spotting again, exactly the same, clear urine and only when I wipe. This is on and off, and not constant. I am in a relationship so I could be pregnant but what has thrown me completely is that I did a test last week and it was negative.

am I pregnant, are these signs pointing towards pregnancy?

any help would be appreciated.

Thank you so much ladies.

Binki 😘 xx

If your period is late the test result is >99% accurate.

Just an irregular cycle maybe

Pray4Me · 22/07/2024 00:12

Outliers, thanks for replying.

never had irregular cycles so I’m confused.

I would take another pregnancy test OP. When did you last take one exactly?

Pray4Me · 22/07/2024 00:14

Semlf- thanks for replying. I took the test on the 17th July.

Yes, time for another test. It’s possible you are pregnant and had a faulty test.

Pray4Me · 22/07/2024 00:20

Thanks piggiewig - I have an appointment with my GP on Thursday. I am hoping he will be able to “diagnose” me on the day.

does anyone know if this sounds like implantation bleeding?

Goodness, you don’t need a GP appointment for a late period, especially as you haven’t even taken a test recently!

Pray4Me · 22/07/2024 07:38

LightlaJuly - my appointment isn’t for a late period but I will discuss this with my GP while I’m there. I didn’t actually say I’m going just for a late period.

The GP won't be able to tell if you're pregnant - you need to do another test.

Lostworlds · 22/07/2024 07:42

It may be implantation bleeding but sadly it’s hard to tell as not everyone experiences it. I agree with others and suggest taking another test to see what the result is. If it’s negative then it might be an irregular period. Have you been unwell or stressed lately?

Sorry, that sounded harsh / it wasn't meant to be.

Blissfulignorance · 22/07/2024 07:49

How old are you OP? Another reason for suddenly irregular periods could be perimenopause, along with a raft of other reasons like stress and weight loss.
Hope you get the answer you're looking for.

Can’t GPs test for pregnancy now? When I was first pregnant, 20 odd years ago, they confirmed the pregnancy with a pee test and dated it roughly by feeling my tummy. Then I went for a scan to confirm it all at 12 weeks.

No they will send you to the chemist to but a test and diagnose from that result.

Pray4Me · 22/07/2024 08:37

Lost worlds - no not had any stress nor felt unwell. Even with the bleeding I’ve not had any cramps etc leading up to it like I would whilst on my period.

I will take a pregnancy test. Thank you. ❤️

Blissfulignorance - I’ve only just turned 40. Never had any issues with my periods till this date. I’ll take another test to see what the results show. Xx

I had a late period last month. Like you, I am usually regular as clockwork. I ended up being 4 days late and was cacking myself.

I took a pregnancy test which was completely negative then another the next day which had a very faint line. Then two digitals (both not pregnant) and thankfully came on that day.

I would advise going straight for the digital because otherwise you may get an evaporation line like I did and throws you into even more turmoil!
