12 week NHS scan at 13+3

Hi
I've just had my NHS scan through and the date given puts me at 13 weeks 3 days. We have already had a scan at 7 weeks 2days due to IVF pregnancy. I have heard of women going to their 12 week scan and not being able to have the combine blood test as the baby is measuring over 14 weeks even though they know from IVF the age of the baby. I’m really panicked that this will happen and the scan date is too late. Any reassurance would be greatly appreciated.

Hey! 👋 Definitely dont panic (though I know it’s impossible not to with an IVF babe), they will be able to do the measurements and tests just fine! If you’re having a panic about it then you can get a private NIPT test which is more accurate than the NHS screening. Hang in there, they absolutely wouldn’t book you in knowing it could be too late! You can call and ask for it to be moved. With my last pregnancy they booked my scan at 13+6, I called as I was worried about the combined screening and they moved it to 12+1. Could always try!

I was 13 weeks at my scan, all fine. And my dates were moved a couple of days at mine, from when I'd had a scan at 8 weeks. You could phone and ask for it to be moved if it's worrying you?
