19 weeks - stopped feeling flutters

This is my first pregnancy to have progressed this far, I had a missed miscarriage in January which has caused me to be fearful.

I know it's early but I felt flutters throughout week 17 and 18. I've felt nothing now for days that I can be certain of. Should I worry? Is it OK for movements to not be regular before 20 weeks?

I have my 20 week scan in 5 days, and I am dreading bad news.

Sorry to hear you're worried. I would give triage a call for some reassurance if it'll help put your mind at rest. FWIW I believe you're right, for first pregnancies it's past 20 weeks when they expect you to feel regular identifiable movement

All the best xx

Try not to panic, i didn’t feel flutters until 20 weeks, was a little more certain of the movement at 21 weeks but wasn’t until 24 weeks when I was certain of baby’s kicks.
I panicked my whole pregnancy over everything so I know how you feel.
Im sure all will be fine, good luck xx

My midwife didn't ask me about baby's movements until 24 weeks and didn't tell me to monitor them until 28 weeks. At 19/20 weeks they're still small enough that they could easily move position such that you can't notice them even though they are still wriggling around. It also depends where your placenta is located (which I didn't find out where mine was until the 20 week scan) as sometimes they can be kicking into that and you just can't feel it at all. I completely understand the worry but basically the answer to your question is yes it's okay if movements aren't regular at the stage you're at. Good luck for your scan, I know they're always nerve-wracking!!

I could have written this myself a couple of days ago. I’m 19weeks and had been feeling popping & flutters since 17 weeks. Had been feeling baby move most days then didn’t feel anything for 2 days. I was on the verge of calling midwife for advice but held off because I knew it was early to track movements.
Baby is now moving again every day, but movements definitely aren’t as strong as they were getting. I have my scan early next week so looking forward to having a check up and making sure all seems well.

I would suggest just calling midwife for advice if you still don’t feel anything today. I’m sure all is fine though xx

This isn’t true, midwife told me they expect you feel some movement by 24 weeks, and regular movement by 28 weeks. I’m 30 weeks and have only now got regular movement. At 19/20 weeks the baby can easily be in a position where you can’t feel it.
