High glucose at 33+6 weeks - GD?

Hi all

Had a glucose tolerance test at 23.5 weeks which came back negative. However today at 33+6 weeks I had high glucose in urine test - badger app says “glucose++++”. My last midwife test 2 weeks ago had no glucose but the one before that had “glucose+” but midwife wasn’t concerned that day as had had a sugary breakfast.

Today however with being so high I have been told I need to be rechecked for gestational diabetes as reading was too high to just monitor. I’m hoping it’s just a fluke spike from stress and exhaustion recently. Has anyone else had this and things be ok?

I had this and I had developed GD. Better to know about it if you do have it so it can be managed and risk of complications minimised.

@SouthwestSis thanks for replying. Yeah I agree, I guess I just hoped with the negative test previously that I was past that point, and I’m not measuring large or anything. I can’t have another GTT as I’m passed 32 weeks, so I have a home kit to do for next 3 days. Will see how that goes:

Update - finished my 3 days of readings, after eating what I normally do (and having quite an indulgent food day yesterday), and all my readings were within range. Been told comfortable not GD now and that reading from Wednesday can happen generally in pregnancy.
