35+6 am I experiencing early labour?

Hi, sorry this is going to be a long read! I went into hospital Thursday 11th of July at 35+1 with a severe pain on the upper left side of my bump. The CGT was showing my contractions was every 4 minutes. I went home with pain relief and found myself having to go back in on the Saturday (35+3) with the pain in the same area getting increasingly worse. For the next two days they did blood test, urine tests and put me on the CGT monitor many times to which my contractions/tightenings was becoming very strong and every few minutes (I will attach photo of CGT recordings). At one point baby boys heart rate was exceeding 180 and my tightenings was ranging from 70-100. They did 3 speculums during my short stay to which my cervix had no change! Sunday afternoon I lost my mucus plug, a big glob of blood mucus followed by a few pieces of thick mucus with pink strands. I left hospital last night to come home and see “how I go” but the pain is still very much unmanageable. My DS can’t hug me as the pain is too tender! The pain on the left side is horrendous when I cough, sneeze, shout or laugh. I can also still feel a lot of tightenings around my lower back and abdomen. Those of which aren’t giving me as much grief as the contractions with my first. They have given me omeprazole as they thought it may be a gut issue, but I eat healthily, stools have all been really good and no constipation etc.
I would just like to know if this has happened to anyone else and whether you’d advise I go back in and ask for a scan of some sort? The pain is very unmanageable on just the paracetamol, I cant even sit in the car for any sort of journey as bumps send shooting pains and walking is extremely difficult when the pain starts back up!

Please contact your local hospital triage. I believe you should be assessed again despite extensive investigation recently. No one here can give appropriate advice but the professionals that you will see can. I work in this area and I would not give you advice based on what you have written, would definitely want to see you.

I think you should go back in to be assessed again.

@Deerpark20 thank you for replying! Sorry I couldn't best explain in words on here! I feel like the few days spent there they just wasn't wanting to investigate anything :( The blood results was clear, urine tests were all good and they just keep saying due to no changes in my cervix, the labour itself is not active, I feel the hospital I go too has lovely midwives who wanted me to stay in but consultants who wouldn't listen to anything I was saying unfortunately. My midwife appointment is at 9am in the morning for my 36 week checks and I am able to talk to her quite well and express my concerns etc so hopefully I can get back on the ward and figure out what's really going on, thank you x

Was your first baby born early, @Amelia1102?

Amelia1102 · 16/07/2024 20:54

@TheShellBeach my first was only a day before his due date!

How are you getting on today, @Amelia1102?

Amelia1102 · 17/07/2024 12:44

@TheShellBeach currently just arriving at triage, my midwife referred me after our appointment this morning, so hopefully they can find out what is going on. Very painful night last night, the pain when I cough or sneeze is so bad in my upper left abdomen. My bump is also measuring smaller than my 32 week appointment, so hopefully they will do a scan today!

Is your blood pressure normal?

WickWood · 17/07/2024 16:54

Hope all okay and you get seen quickly x

Amelia1102 · 17/07/2024 22:27

@TheShellBeach blood pressure was normal, urine and blood tests was clear again today. Iron levels really low but they have been for a few weeks now. I have a stomach scan tomorrow and also a growth scan. My midwife measured today and said he was measuring smaller than he did at the 34 week appointment, but I don't understand how that could happen or where they will go from here!

@WickWood thank you!

Have you been admitted @Amelia1102?

Amelia1102 · 18/07/2024 07:02

@TheShellBeach no I have been sent home and told to take double dose of my original pain killer prescription. Pain is still there but they suspect it's something in my stomach rather than the baby. Hopefully they ring this morning with the scan availability. I'm just concerned now about whether he's getting the right nutrients etc in my belly, especially now that his growth chart shows quite a decline!
