So I never know if I'm overreacting or not but the last couple of days have been a bit strange.

Baby number 2 btw.

Baby has been moving almost non-stop pretty much since yesterday morning/afternoon, my back is aching - yesterday evening was the first time all pregnancy I've felt like I can do literally nothing, (I'm usually quite independent and up and at em, even while pregnany, takes a lot for me to ask for help).

Today more of the same, back and hips killing, baby moving continually. I've got pressure further down into my pelvis and I've also had a bout of excruciating pain right below my ribs.

I'm teary and anxious and fed up 😓 dr google says everything from pre eclampsia to pre term labour to baby stretching.

Am I being unreasonable to call the MAU?

Definitely contact to Mau if you're concerned. You're likely fine but best get checked out x

DOVE15 · 13/07/2024 18:04

Agree, call MAU, they're the only ones that can alleviate any anxiety. I'm sure you're fine, but they will be best placed to advise.

I've called MAU for faaaar less btw! They'd rather you called than didn't.

This! I feel so stupid ringing and saying I'm uncomfortable. My first preg I went in 2 days over and was left waiting in the emergency maternity unit, ended up beside a girl who'd been there for hours for pelvic pain and was sent home with paracetamol. Only to then be assessed myself and them to discover we were in diffs, baby only just made it out alive.
I'd hate to be the one who's sat there waiting for painkillers 😓😣

I had all this with my fourth baby, I would get checked out she ended up coming at 37 weeks and 5 days I knew she was going to be early

@catgirl30 it's never daft to call them if your instinct/gut is telling you something is off. As pp said, they'd always rather you call than didn't. Also in terms of movements, I believe that the advice now is to call for a change in movements not just a reduction. Best of luck!

FlyingHighFlyingLow · 13/07/2024 18:33

You're supposed to call when there is deviation from normal pattern. Movement more than usual is differing from the pattern so call them.

Hopefully baby just changed position and is getting bigger so feeling more.
