Bleeding in second pregnancy but none in first?

Hi, has anyone experienced bleeding in their second pregnancy but not in their first? I am 13 weeks and have been bleeding for the past three days, mostly light but a few times more heavily. I spoke to my midwife and they told me it was normal and go to A&E only if it was soaking through a pad or if I got any severe pain. But I never experienced this with my first pregnancy so really wasn't expecting it this time round.

I think I am even more worried because my first pregnancy was IVF and after thinking we couldn't have a child naturally it came as a bit of a shock to discover last month I was pregnant, so now feels like I am just waiting for something to go wrong as it feels too good to be true!

I did with my first but not with my others. I've had three kids and every pregnancy has been completely different. Try not to worry x

I had a small amount of spotting 3 times in my first (IVF) pregnancy which was due to a cervical ectropion.

Like you, currently pregnant with a shock natural surprise and bled for 20 days. This time bright red and much more than spotting. After 3 scans, was finally diagnosed as a sub chorionic haematoma.

DDIL did have, what I considered to be a fair amount of bleeding three times in her second pregnancy. Apparently tests showed, the blood was coming from her abdomen, not the pregnancy. DGS was born normally at term!

I was the opposite, bled with my first lightly at 5 weeks and very heavily at 20 weeks. All was fine with baby.

Didn't bleed at all on my second pregnancy, again all ok with baby x

Thanks everyone, you all made me feel much better about it.

Unfortunately yesterday evening I started bleeding extremely heavily and was rushed to A&E. Had a scan today and they confirmed I had miscarried. Seems like this time it just wasn't meant to be.
