Bilirubin in urine 16 weeks

I'm waiting on bloods coming back to check my liver and kidney function.

Hey OP. I actually had a bit of this in my urine dip in triage the weekend - I’m 38+6 today. I had to re-do a sample as my sample wasn’t even half the bottle and it then come back with +1 protein so they’ve sent it off (nothing back yet).
They said with small samples it can show higher concentrations of certain things - was your sample a full bottle and did they say they are sending it off?

It was maybe 4/5 full, it was a forced pee as I'd literally just been before they asked (typical)

Yes they are sending the urine off, and they've taken bloods as well.

Did your second sample have bilirubin in aswell, or was it a once off?

I go automatically to panic stations with these things

No my second sample didn’t have as much in so they weren’t concerned, they were concerned at the protein amount for pre-eclampsia but I chased it earlier and it’s still not back so that’s worrying me 🙄
My sister in law had a liver issue picked up at around 20 weeks from urine assuming it was this and everything is all good she’s due next month.
I wont say don’t stress because for the last 38+6 weeks of my pregnancy all I’ve done is panic and stress about every single thing.

@AimeeLou84 sorry your results aren't back in either... I understand they are uber busy but when your sole focus is your own health and that of your baby it's hard not to get hyperfocused and anxious over it.

I'm still waiting on a call back. I'll chase again later this afternoon before 5 as I don't fancy another night lying wondering.

Yeah exactly! When I asked today if they were back yet the response was ‘sometimes urine results take a while to come back.’ So then don’t panic me with what it might be if I’ve got to wait a week! Hopefully all is ok for both of us x

I said that last night too.

"I'd rather be told I'm getting X/Y/Z tests done and the results will be with us in a maximum of X days."

But don't go telling me what for because all I hear is the negative IFs and MAYBEs and will spend the entire time focusing on them.

I just got a call from the doctor who said my bilirubin level was a 4, normal levels are between 3 & 20 so they are actually pretty good. Been told it's a possibility that the dip stick has been read wrong or misinterpreted, or the colour has ran on it. But I am to get it tested at each midwife appointment now on dip stick, and all my bloods will now include a liver test so they can keep a eye on it now they've worried me silly.

Well that’s good news. Yeah the midwife dip tests at every appointment so that’s good. I’ve had no end of worry during pregnancy I’m having a c section Thursday and I can’t wait!

As in this week? Wow, that's exciting! So close now! I feel like I still have AGES.

Yeah this week. I feel like I’ve been pregnant for about two years it feels like it’s taken so long and so many struggles to get here. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!
