5 weeks and bleeding 😢

DoraBella88 · 08/07/2024 14:59

I posted this morning about lack of symptoms and shortly after had some brown when I wiped. This has progressively increased to brown bits in my urine and darker “bleeding”
I had a GP appointment and she said she would refer me to early pregnancy. Since then the bleeding has increased, but only when I wipe. My GP has called me back and said early pregnancy won’t see me until I’m 6 weeks so I have to wait. She asked me to do another pregnancy test which I’ve done with extremely diluted urine. Faint positive on Clear Blue and positive on a CB digital.

I guess I’m after some hope 😢over 10yrs waiting for this and it looks like I’m losing the baby 😢

Would you say that the line on your test is getting stronger or fainter?

Have you done another weeks indicator yet?

I'm so sorry you've started bleeding.

Noshadealltea · 09/07/2024 00:30

Hi OP, I had a lot of bleeding in the early weeks when I was pregnant with DD, sometimes it just happens. Don’t lose hope as it sounds like it’s only brown blood and only when you wipe still. Could just be reminents of implantation bleeding. Sending so many well wishes and hugs your way xx

My lines were getting slowly darker. I did a line test yesterday after like 2 litres of water and 10 wees and it was very faint. I did a digital at the same time and it showed 1-2 weeks still. However due to so diluted I was surprised it even said positive.

I’ve just done another clear blue and it’s positive within a minute 🤷🏻‍♀️ the line came up straight away, however it’s not as dark as I would of hoped of everything was ok

Thank you. It’s turned to red blood. Not bright red but definitely more red than brown with a few clots.

I still haven’t bleed through to my pad and only when I wipe still.

I’ve just done a week indicator test and it’s showing 1-2 weeks. Which it showed last Tuesday when I tested. So it’s not progressed. However I have read that these can’t always be reliable for indicating progression

Let's hope it's just some kind of other bleeding and not relating to your pregnancy. If you can get to the scan this week it would be god to have it checked so you know what's going on. 🤞🏼

My Gap is trying to get me in as soon as she can so hopefully Thursday or Friday this week. She really wanted me seen yesterday but they wouldn’t see me 😢

I don't want to be the bearer of bad news but I also don't want to give you false hope. I've had multiple miscarriages and 2 successful pregnancies (8 years apart). Every single one of my miscarriages involved early bleeding and lines on pregnancy tests either stalling or not getting darker - those clear blue with weeks never progressed for me with any of my miscarriages but they did with my term pregnancies. I too googled extensively when it happened to me and I too found comfort in the multiple stories of women who had bleeding and lack of test progression and went on to carry to term but ultimately it never turned out that way for me and it was better for my mental health in the long run to be fully prepared for the most likely outcome when I went into the EPU. I really hope it isn't the case for you x

Thank you. If I’m honest I already feel
like it’s gone. I sat down with my husband last night and said it’s not looking good. Breaking my heart seeing him look for hope.

Ive been through a lot of counselling in the last 12-18months (not pregnancy related) so my mental side is actually coping really well. I’m looking at the positives and saying we’ve never got this far in over 10yrs! So we know we can do it so we can go again. Hopefully not having to wait another 10yrs to get here though.

just hoping I hear from the doctor or early pregnancy today

Hi @DoraBella88

Did your doctor take blood for hCG levels?

Two results, taken 48 hours apart, would give a good indication of the pregnancy's viability.

anonhop · 09/07/2024 09:21

Love & hugs OP. TTC & pregnancy are brutal. The not knowing is the worst <3

You will get through this. Take time to feel rubbish & to be with your DH. Best of luck xx

DoraBella88 · 09/07/2024 09:43

@TheShellBeach no she didn’t take bloods. I think she was convinced I’d be seen straight away at early pregnancy.

@anonhop thank you.

It’s now turned in to a very bad period. So I’m currently miscarrying 😢 bad backache and heavy heavy bleeding 😢

Oh my dear.

I'm so sorry, after all the time you waited to get a
BFP.

DoraBella88 · 09/07/2024 14:16

Thank you 😢

it’s just so heartbreaking after all this time trying. And hearing “at least you know you can get pregnant” really isn’t helping after over 10yrs of trying…. I know people mean well, but it just sucks

OP posts:
TheShellBeach · 09/07/2024 14:23

Of course it isn't helpful when people say "at least you can get pregnant" because you've conceived just once in ten years.

I'm so sorry @DoraBella88 this has been an utter tragedy.

im unsure whether to go for the scan still or not. My midwife friend thinks I should just to confirm everything has gone. But I feel like what’s the point 😢

I do think you should go x

TheShellBeach · 09/07/2024 14:39

Please go for the scan.
It is possible that not everything has been passed and you may need further treatment.

TheShellBeach · 09/07/2024 14:40

And I say that as a midwife myself, and as a woman who has had many miscarriages, most of which needed surgical treatment.

TheShellBeach · 09/07/2024 14:41

How's your husband, @DoraBella88?

He’s devastated but trying to act strong for me. It’s breaking my heart seeing him so upset 😭 I just wish I could give home the thing he wants the most. Devastated.

I will go for the scan still then. At least I’ll know what to expect I guess

OP posts:
Loapal · 09/07/2024 14:50

I've had that so many times OP, people saying "at least you can get pregnant" or "at least it was early". I can get pregnant at the drop of a hat but I cannot keep hold of my babies. I'm 35 weeks pregnant now but it's taken 8 years of MC to get here and I still feel the effects of them daily. I think people just don't know what to say but it's incredibly unhelpful and insensitive, and saying "it was early" totally invalidates the experience for me. I don't know if you're on Facebook but there are lots of miscarriage support groups which I personally found very helpful.
