Hi!
I had awful hand and wrist pain through pregnancy and also on the joint of my thumb. When I gave birth it was like instant relief…I think it is quite common. The only thing that has lasted is a twinge in the thumb now and again. However I’d still recommend getting checked x

I had this! Carpal tunnel during pregnancy but went away instantly after birth! X

I had this with my 20 month old, midwife told me is totally normal with pregnancy

Sounds like carpal tunnel, I had it in both hands/wrists but disappeared as soon as I gave birth! Worth mentioning to your midwife in case just for your peace of mind

Yes, normal. It's carpal tunnel syndrome. I had it in late pregnancy with DC1, but didn't get it at all in my two subsequent pregnancies. It only seemed to get me when I was in bed, and I found raising my hands above my head helped. Not very practical during the day, though!

@DramaAlpaca I'm very active and have children so I'm really busy and mine hurts during the day a lot I'm
Even struggling to do basic washing up and hoovering ! Is this normal ? It woke me in the night to? X

It's De Quervain tenosynovitis. Mine is only just starting to resolve now 7 months post partum. Wearing a wrist splint helps, one with wrist and thumb support.

I had carpal tunnel in my other hand during pregnancy but that presented as pain in the fingers, mostly at night and went 3 weeks post partum.

Yes unfortunately, mine used to wake me up in the night and sometimes I’d be unable to move my hand
