Will I get scan photos at NHS 8 week scan?

I’m currently pregnant for the second time. Hospital have kindly offered me an early scan at 8 weeks as my first pregnancy ended at 12+6.

This is NHS, not private. All being well, will I be able to have photos of the scan? I’m happy to pay, but not sure if early pregnancy units really do scan photos?

Yes you will, I went recently and got 4 pics for free

I had an NHS scan at 6 weeks and she gave me a photo, I didn’t really want it though! Barely anything to see.

Yes I'm sure they will give you photos. Best of luck and hope all goes well.

I think if you ask/want one, they are generally quite accommodating. No skin off their noses I guess as they just press an extra button on the machine to get the printout.

That's also really good you've been offered the extra early scan. I've had previous losses and haven't been offered anything so definitely not done as standard. Will be fantastic to get that reassurance 😊

They didn't do printouts at any of my nhs scans. They allowed me to take photos with my phone at the end

Depends on your trust. DS1 - they never printed, I took photos of the screen.

DS2 - I had a scan every week and each week they printed a photo for me.

I’ve had a number of early pregnancy scans (2 high risk pregnancies and a miscarriage), and some I’ve been given photos and some I haven’t. Seems to depend on the sonographer.

I had 8 week reassurance scan last week and they said they don’t do print outs anymore but allowed me to photograph the screen

I had to pay for my scan pictures but the letter I received before the scan told me there was a cost and advised to bring cash.
