Periods after pregnancy?

I’m 10 weeks postpartum and I think I have my first period since having a c-section. I’m not breastfeeding and have stopped lactating. My postpartum bleed finished about 3 weeks ago.

Normally my period are very painful but this one isn’t at all? It’s also quite heavy with some small clots. I’m still a bit worried about infection etc. Has anyone else experienced changes in their period since childbirth? As I had a caesarean my cervix didn’t dilate much so I thought this wouldn’t impact my cramps.

I’m also 10 weeks postpartum and have had 2 periods since birth, lucky me I suppose I thought I’d get a break! My first one was much lighter and virtually no cramps (I’ve always had awfully heavy periods with extreme painful cramps) and I was quite happy thinking my periods might be better after having a baby but my second period was back to normal so it may just take time x

Hi - yes the first period can be a little out of the norm. Main thing is that the colour of it is what you’d expect. I had a very heavy period the first time with second child. My friend who had painful periods due to endometriosis found that after she gave birth she no longer had a problem so perhaps pain-wise things might feel different. I know I don’t get the similar cramps as before. I would say it took me 10months to properly feel like my body was normal again- the joints, aches, hormones etc take a while to settle I think. Give yourself time 😊

I'm also 10 weeks pp from a c section and I've had 2 periods since, both extremely long and heavy 😫 so yeah mine have changed... My recent one I was full on bleeding for 10 days and now when I go to the loo there's still traces when I wipe. Lucky us eh 🙄

Im almost 1 year pp from section. My 1st period was 5 weeks after initial bleed which lasted 2 weeks. I made the mistake of going in a pill desgestral maybe 4 months pp. Bleed 12 weeks straight before i had enough and came off it. 🤦‍♀️ 12 months on my periods r normal cycle length. But have remained heavier and the cramps i get along my scar are bad each period 🙈 i never had bad periods before baby
