Sinus infection (penicillin allergy)

Hey all, Im nearly 16 weeks pregnant have a horrible sinus pain above one eyebrow, it's gotten worse over 2 weeks. I had covid a few weeks back and think it's leftover congestion.

I'm hesitant to get antibiotics as I have a penicillin allergy and the options are erythromycin/clarythromycin as far as I know. Which both come with 'only use if benefits outweigh risks'.

Has anyone used erythromycin/clarythromycin or penicillin allergy alternative options during Pregnancy?

I'm worried as this is my little rainbow baby and I don't want to cause anything scary to happen.

I used to get regular sinus infections and the go-to was Zithromax (azythromycin.)

@GrumpyPanda ah I've never heard of them, did you use them in pregnancy before?

I had an awful sinus infection in my last pregnancy and got good relief from Sterimar.

@Welshcake15 did you end up using antibiotics?

I read up that most sinus infections are viral, I'm hoping mine is but the pain is awful. Got sterimar nasal spray too.

I did take antibiotics, but the relief from the Sterimar was incredible.
