Emergency IUD failure - is it possible?

Please do not judge, it has been an emotional decision.

We were casually planning and then I just found out some news that made me change my mind.

My cycles are 29 days long. From tracking in the past my peak LH surge happens on CD 15/16 so I ovulate CD 16/17. I have gotten pregnant in the past tracking my cycle like this before.

For this current cycle as mentioned above I couldn't continue and decided to opt for emergency IUD. The centre however kept saying I was on the cusp which made me worry.

Period Start - 12th June (CD1)
Period End - 17th June (CD6)
Unprotected Sex - 25th June 1am (CD14)
High LH - 25th June 3pm (CD14)
Unprotected Sex - 28th June 9am (CD17)
Copper IUD fitted 1st July 4pm (CD20)

Did I leave it too late? It was the weekend so couldn't get in any earlier than yesterday.

The NHS website says it can be fitted up to 5 days after intercourse, so no, it doesn't seem that you are out of time.

After which intercourse date? There is a date before and after ovulation...

Sorry, clearly I missed the first one. The CD14 sex is probably out of the window, realistically. I don't know whether the pregnancy could continue if you now have an IUD. It's not too clear on that.

The CD17 sex is fine, but the CD14 sex was basically on ovulation, so that'd be the more likely culprit I'd think.
