How long did it take for you to hear back from maternity services?

I got my positive test at 3 weeks 1 day and self-referred for maternity services on the same day. It's only been a week but wondering when I will hear from them. A family member lives in a different area and heard from them 3 days after referring.

Just looking for guidance as to when they may contact as I want to know when to chase them, (I don't want to chase up the referral too early).

You probably won’t hear from them for awhile OP as you don’t have your first appointment until 8-10 weeks (booking in appointment) so often you just get a letter through the door or a phone call to let you know the date for that appointment. I was 9 weeks at my booking appointment and got my appointment through at about 7 weeks. I had chased them because I was expecting a reply sooner and they basically said because of chemical pregnancies/early miscarriage they don’t tend to actually schedule you first appointment until a bit later on to save you having an appointment booked in and having to cancel x

In our area we can only self-refer into the service from 6 weeks onwards. Then it will take a couple of weeks to hear back. Booking in appointment is normally between 10-12 weeks.

They don’t make contact until 8 - 9 weeks here, regardless of how early you self refer.

It's usually about 8 weeks.

8-11 weeks with your first scan at about 12 weeks

Wow it really varies! I self referred at 4 weeks, heard from them 2 days later to book in booking appt. 12 week scan appt came by letter that week

Ours only ask you to self refer from 5 week onwards - you won’t have booking appointment til at least 8/9 weeks so I wouldn’t worry at all. I waited ages to self refer this pregnancy as it was tough having to cancel appointments with a previous miscarriage

Yes, this is what happened for my family member. She got her appointments through at 4 weeks.

Just an update for anyone on here wondering. I got my midwife appointment through at 4 weeks, 6 days, just over a week after I self-referred. They have given me my midwife name and number, appointment for bloods, history appointment and first scan.
