I went for a secret scan to find out baby’s sex today as DP wants a surprise, I originally did but I was finding it so difficult to even wrap my head around the fact that I was having a baby at all that I decided I needed to know who was in there.

I’m having a little boy 🥹❤️ I just wanted to tell someone so I don’t blurt it out at home!

Congratulations!!

Sunshineclouds11 · 28/06/2024 13:43

Congratulations 🩵

My first is a boy, it's a lot of fun!

BluPeony · 28/06/2024 13:45

Congratulations! My first was a boy too and I found out accidentally because I saw a potty shot when I shouldn't have 😅

Careful with buying baby clothes! I had to buy some pink things to throw people off the scent.

Congratulations!!

Thank you! I went from feeling rough for 13 weeks to not feeling pregnant at all now as still not showing so I just wanted to know more about them, turns out he (he!!) is lying vertical with his head behind my belly button and an anterior placenta so he’s hiding.

I can’t believe I know that he is a he! I feel all silly and giddy now, I was so worried I’d instantly regret finding out as I would have been over the moon either way, but he feels very real now 🥰

Congratulations. I remember a friend of mine being asked at a scan "do you want to know what sex he is? Fortunately they did.

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 28/06/2024 13:56

Huge congratulations, OP, and the best of luck keeping the secret!

Tell no one in real life. Or your secret will be out....
Take out your baby scan, with the daddy and tell him you think you can see little boy bits. Jog him on gently, till he sees it too.

Oh I’m not telling a soul! I don’t want to ruin the surprise for DP as he feels quite strongly about it 😄

How long do you have to go with not telling anyone.

He’s had a name for years! 😁

We always knew we’d name a boy after our Grandads. My Gramps had a classic name, and DP’s Gramps’ name was very 1930s, and we both agree it’s a bit dated now! We’ve gone for my Gramps’ name as his first name, and DP’s as his middle name.

Aww that's lovely I gave my eldest son my grandads name as a middle name, he was a big part in mine and my kids lives so it was a no brainer. Good luck with everything!

Grandads are the best, I miss mine terribly. I love that we are using his name as he wasn’t born with that name, he changed it to something he wanted when he moved to the UK in his 20s, so it feels like he has ‘chosen’ our little boy’s name too 🥰

We were lucky to have amazing grandads, I miss mine too.

MaltipooMama · 28/06/2024 16:42

Congratulations! I have a seven month old boy and he is the best!! Lots of little boys in my family and they're awesome!

Poolstream · 28/06/2024 16:47

I never had a living grandad.

Dd is having another boy and they have picked a first name.
I’m gently suggesting family middle names in a ‘this would go well with’ sort of way but I think she’s sussed me out. 😂
Dgs 1 has his paternal grandad’s name as a middle name. However I wouldn’t wish dh’s name on a poor dc.
