Yes at 33 weeks there's still lots of time :) If you're concerned, mention it to your midwife, and they might be willing to check baby's position a little more frequently than they normally would.

Last week my baby (above 95th centile) turned the day before my scan at 36 weeks. I found it very difficult to believe everyone who told me that the baby would turn, partly because it felt like it was getting too late and partly because I’ve got such a big baby, so I get it if you don’t believe it’ll happen! The vast majority of babies do turn in time, but if yours is still breech at 36 weeks your midwife will snap into action.

Perfectly normal. My 3rd flipped at 38 weeks.

All 3 of mine were breach - 2 flipped themselves very late on; one was turned by the consultant - external cephalic version - although they do not do that so often these days - it is a dying skill. .

My DD2 was breech from around 28w, turned at 39+2 and was born at 39+3! 😅 I'm told its quite rare for them to turn that late but she was quite small so i think probably still had a bit of room. I had a c-section booked so was glad she got herself sorted. Have you looked at the website Spinning Babies? Worth a try now to get them moving!

I think it might depend on the hospital? We are in London and everyone with a breech baby at 36w is offered ECV as standard.

Glad to hear that ECV is alive and well.

I’m 33+3 and my baby turned from breech yesterday. It was a very uncomfortable day! Although I obviously can’t be 100% sure (as not had a scan to confirm), I’m as positive as I can be. At my 31 week appointment, the midwife said there’s absolutely no cause for concern until 34 week appointment. Even then they’re not worried and most babies will still turn or can be turned via ECV. Easier said than done but try not to worry. If baby stays breech for your next appointment, the midwife will advise on what happens next snd there will be steps taken to help you.

TallulahBetty · 28/06/2024 10:16

Mine turned at 37-ish weeks. I was planning on declining an ECV and going straight to section.

Yes, DS2 around 34 weeks, It must have happened when I was sleeping as I was unaware, so when the midwife thought she felt a head and I had not felt movement she got another to check. And then they got me scanned.

Pocketfullofdogtreats · 28/06/2024 10:18

Yes. My DS was turned by a skilled midwife.
But don't worry - they know what they're doing. They'll decide on the best option and discuss it with you.

DC2 turned at 36+5. A colleague of mine had her first child flip sometimes between 36-39 weeks. It can and does happen.
