First midwife appointment! Is Hcg levels tested in your blood at the first 8 week appt? And what is the urine sample tested for? Thanks 😌

No HCG is not tested.

Google urinalysis for more info re urine dip.

Hi they bloods they test for iron HIV MSU SYPHILIS Hepatitis B haematology (mother)

Wee sample they test for sugar, protein, ketones, bacteria, and blood cells

Apologies, urine is not dipped at booking, it is sent off to test for protein and signs of infection including GBS.

Do they do a scan?

Not at the first midwife appointment no..where I am you have a chat about the pregnancy , health , blood test and urine sample ect at 8 weeks then a scan at 12 weeks
