Contractions started every 10 mins around midnight last night. Fell asleep at 2am they woke me up out of my sleep until I fell back to sleep again at 5am.
I had the runs in that time and was sick also. A lot of back pain and pressure in my bum.

Now I just feel very anxious they woke me up again at 7.30 and seem to be tailing off a little. But I'm scared this is baby number 5 for me and first time I've not been induced so my experience of normal labour is like a new pregnancy to me as Ive jot experienced it.
I was 2cm and have had 2 sweeps last week I don't know whether to go into triage and ask to be checked over?

I'm just scared as every single time I've had a baby I cope fine with the contractions then go from 6-10cm in minutes and I'm scared about leaving it to late Confused.

Probably yes - go! Good luck and look forward to hearing that you have babe in your arms! 🥰

IVFKinster · 26/06/2024 08:43

You should absolutely call triage just to get proper professional advice about when to go into hospital. Goodluck!

Fartughtyred · 26/06/2024 08:43

I would go if I were you!

Babychewtoy · 26/06/2024 08:44

Yes, sounds like it. My contractions were agony with 1st baby but with 2nd baby they just felt like trapped wind at first so I wasn’t sure if it was or not. But it definitely was.

TeaPleaseX · 26/06/2024 08:46

I'll give them a ring feel a bit stupid though as they aren't taking my breath away but they don't usually until I get to that transition stage then I really feel the pain. But it's been all night and I'm shattered.

Mine weren’t taking my breath away either.. they told me to come in to be checked but be prepared to be sent home again.

When I got there they took me to labour ward straight away with a kit for incase I gave birth on the stairs 😂

@Babychewtoy Oh I hope this is me lol. I keep having panic attacks! I've done it four times I don't know why I'm so scared. I'm genuinely terrified this time. I've just sent all the kids into school checked the bag again and now just sitting here on edge.

I would definitely call. Natural labour is a lot tamer than induced labour in my experience. I got caught out with this and ended up not making it to hospital! The contractions didn't take my breath away until right at the end.
Don't let them tell you they have to be 3 minutes apart before they will see you, and tell them that you have rapid second stage labour. Good luck!

heldinadream · 26/06/2024 11:23

How are you doing @TeaPleaseX
Did you ring or go or are you still waiting to see?
Have you got care for your children arranged? Hope you're ok.

@heldinadream Hi I am still going! I'm only 3cm so just had another sweep done. She said baby's back to back so she thinks this is why the labour keeps stopping and starting as well. Been sent on a walk now to try and get the contractions to come on more. And grandparents have arrived to have the children so really hoping baby plays balls and makes an appearance today. Losing hope though now.

Don't lose hope! It can't be too long now. Hope you can chill out a bit. Glad you've got the children covered.

Hi every one I had my baby! It was labour. It kept starting and stopping due to her positioning I got to 7cm without any pain or contractions due to the stop start. But when she finally engaged into the pelvis my god the pain started. Had a lovely water birth on Thursday night and she's here. Can't believe I done it. Was such a crazy experience she wouldn't engage until about 30 mins before she came out but once she did I felt like I was sitting on her head! She was only 7lb 2 as well I thought she was going to be huge.
