Did I loose my mucus plug?

I'm 34 weeks pregnant and (TMI) today I saw some discharge that looked kind of like snot. The consistency and colour was very similar. It wasn't a lot and this has made me unsure if I've lost my mucus plug or if it was just discharge.

I had exactly the same (39+5) and did assume it was at least a bit of the plug as my discharge has otherwise been very clear and watery.

Could be either really. I’ve been losing similar (35 weeks today) but if it is my plug it seems to just regenerate because I’ve had no further concerns. I’ve had two premature births (31+6, no mucus plug loss, and 21 weeks, snot like mucus loss for the days before) so I’ve been on high alert but nothing!

.@DanisEndo Yes its been the exact same thing for me! Did you notice more of the plug come out later when you were close to labour or was that it?

@Rtmhwales Hopefully we make it to full term. Would you mind if I asked, when you lost your mucus plug at 21 weeks did you get other signs of labour? If so how soon after

@flyingbeet it was only early today I had the (assumed) plug and I’m still waiting to go into labour so not much help I’m afraid 😂

DanisEndo · 26/06/2024 09:08

@flyingbeet i just had more come out and am certain that’s what it was now! Fingers crossed baby isn’t far behind! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

@DanisEndo That's so exciting! Hope you meet your baby soon🩷

@flyingbeet will do ♥️ so far a few twangs but nothing major. Due date is tomorrow 🤞🏻🤞🏻

have you had anymore of the same kind of snotty/discharge?? It might be worth calling triage and mentioning considering you’re earlier than 37 weeks.

@DanisEndo No I haven't had any more symptoms. It was a little weird since the day I lost some of my mucus plug I was having a lot of Braxton hicks contractions in the evening. I should have timed them but I've never had them so close together. That happened for like an hour and then it stopped. It's been two days since so I think my mucus plug has just rejuvenated. I have an appointment tomorrow so I'll let my midwife know and ask her what she thinks.

Hope everything is going well for you x

So it turns out it was a bit of my plug and I actually went into labour and had my baby yesterday where I lost a bit more during my hind waters breaking and then the rest of it followed in hospital! There was so much more than I was expecting.

wishing you best of luck hope midwife appointment goes well today

flyingbeet · 29/06/2024 11:19

@DanisEndo Congratulations 🎉 🎉 That's such good news. Hope you and baby are doing well. No signs of labour for me which is good since I don't want to give birth to a premature baby. I still have 5 weeks till my due date. I talked to my midwife and she also agreed that it was a little bit of my mucus plug but since I have no other signs of labour she isn't worried.
