Hi! I have a 2.5 year old who will be 3 when this baby is born. I am going to be having another elective c section (hopefully!) and wondered if anyone has any experiences of this with another child or any advice? How did you find recovery? What would you recommend to make things easier?

baby is due beginning of January so would have the c section just after Christmas - hoping they don’t decide to come early!

I had a c section when my little one was 2. I got her used to me being pregnant and regularly talked about the baby. She loves a cuddle so I made her get used to cuddling next to me rather than on me so that she wouldn’t be lying on my stomach post c section.

Once the baby was born, I found it difficult to not lift my 2 year old. She was great with being careful around me and not jumping next to me.
I started asking her to be my big helper so she would go and get muslins and nappies, it helped her to feel included.

I actually found the recovery the second time okay! I was prepared for the pain and made sure to drink lots and move around as soon as I could. Annoyingly I got an infection but other than that the recovery actually felt easier than the first time!
