Hi just wondering if people have a Fiat 500 and what prams/carrycot they use or can recommend to fit in the boot please.

I'm currently pregnant with my first but have a 3 door mini. I'm looking at the yoyo and joolz aer + as they're both ultracompact and fold to airplane carryon size. The Yoyo has a newborn pack option which can fold with it, though adds bulk (it also has a bassinet option). The jools has a carrycot option which doesn't fold but the pram folds around the carrycot (so I expect will fit in a footwell if it doesn't fit in the boot..
Both are super light weight appox 6k. I also live in a first floor flat, so that's influencing things as much as the car.
Car seats I'm stumped with.

I had a chicco umbrella pushchair that was suitable from birth that fitted in the boot of my fiat 500.
Prior to that, I had a mothercare pram that meant I had to put one seat down to get the frame of the pram in the car?!

Following - currently in the same boat! However, in experimenting over the past few weeks I have discovered that if you put half the back seat down you can even fit some big strollers in as long as you put a bag over the top wheel to stop it getting mud on the roof, and can strap it in so it doesn't move anywhere. Not sure how practical the car is going to be longer term once baby gets heavy and have to strap them into the car seat with only a 3-door car, and am sure I will look like the crazy lady with a tardis car, but I was quite relieved to know I'm not going to have to deal with the expense and stress of selling/buying a new car and learning how to drive it immediately.

Id probably look into getting a doona for when they're newborn, but you can't really keep them in there for long so depends if you'll be out and about for a while or just popping on errands.

Yo-yo all the way

can take on planes, take most places otherwise and will last until they are 4

we had another larger pram but only use yo yo now for our 2nd - like most of our friends

Cosatto do some prams they advertise as being able to fit in a 500 - think the Giggle 3 is one of them

We had an old-school Ford Ka when DS1 was born and the Baby jogger city mini was the only one that fit because it had the rectangular "suitcase" fold that could sit vertically in the boot and didn't need the wheels taking off to close the boot door.

I've used my brother's yoyo and it's fine for the city but the wheels are tiny for anything else.

We had a Babyzen Yoyo in a small car. I absolutely loved it. It is lightweight, easy to push one handed with quite a tall handle, I could carry it down steps myself. The disadvantages were a small basket on the bottom (I got a clip for bags), it's quite low down when using the newborn pack and it's not great on uneven surfaces due to small wheels. It's a great urban pram and I see so many of them when we go to central London but if you like country walks etc it's probably not for you.

We had a yoyo but I really did not get on with it. Sold it and got a joolz aer instead which I love. There are lots of reviews comparing them both on YouTube which are very helpful. If you wanted something a little bigger and more sturdy maybe look at the bugaboo dragonfly. The bassinet folds down with the frame and my friends fits in her 500. It does take up the whole boot though!

Thank you every one for your recommendations. We already have a daughter who is 4 so I will be doing school runs with the baby as well as needing to have both children in the back of the car with me.

I’ve got a Volkswagen up, I’ve heard the mamas and papas flip xt3 is supposed to fit so we’re going to find a stockist and try that
