Induction by balloon or dilapan?

Has anyone had a VBAC induction using cooks balloon or dilapan? I had a previous csection and if I am to be induced, it'll be by one of those methods mentioned above. They won't give me a hormonal induction due to prev csection and higher chance of scar rupturing. OR I can have a csection but I'd really like a VBAC.
Just wanted to know people's experiences with either Dilapan or a cooks balloon?
Thanks

Hi OP, I was induced with my first baby nearly 9 weeks ago now. I had 2 gels to start with which didn’t make any difference so I then had the dilapan rods put in. They gave me gas and air to use for the insertion which I have to say was definitely needed, I found the process of having them put in very uncomfortable however I do think this was worse for me because I was actually already having contractions at this point, they just weren’t effectively opening my cervix! They told me to just chill out, stay active etc and that they would be back to check on me in 15 hours so my husband and I got changed and then headed off for a wander around the hospital grounds to keep on my feet, less than an hour later while on the total other side of the hospital my waters broke so it actually worked quickly!
