Hi everyone, apologies in advanced for the pic. I'm 37+3 weeks today and have had lower back ache and cramping but not really bad. Not contractions. I know it's not contractions because this is my 3rd. I had a show with my 1st. My second I had nothing until the day I went into labour. I've had increased vaginal discharge the last couple of days but just woke up to two episodes of wiping and then this....

Looks like it could be the start of your plug to me. Just gonna say I’ve had 3 and it’s 100% possible not to feel contractions! I was hooked up to the CTG, having them pointed out to me and didn’t feel them.

ElmTree22 · 14/06/2024 06:27

Looks like it, mine came away at 36 weeks and my DD came at 40+9. Midwife told me it can come away as everything gets more relaxed down there and then regrow again so not to get my hopes up....I got my hopes up 😂

Mummyof2beautifulb · 14/06/2024 06:39

@edgeware I know... my second I wasn't convinced it was labour until I got there and was 7cm! 🤣 thanks for your reply.

@ElmTree22 my hopes are up not gonna lie! Im at that point lol. Thanks for you reply.

That looks like amniotic fluid- I’d get checked out.

Mummyof2beautifulb · 14/06/2024 08:00

@DailyEnergyCrisis really? I've not had any trickling or dampness? Thanks for your reply. I'll text my midwife.

Yes it looks the same distinctive shade of yellow as when my waters broke (both times without labour starting so one induction and one c section). I think if it’s a slow leak they may be able to just monitor it but they are sometimes concerned about infection being introduced.

Mummyof2beautifulb · 14/06/2024 08:23

@DailyEnergyCrisis oh right I see. My waters never broke with my other two and when they did I was submerged in a birthing pool so have no experience of what they look like tbh. Thank you.

I’ve looked again and I could be wrong to be honest- it looks a little less yellow and more like mucus in the light of day.

Mummyof2beautifulb · 14/06/2024 13:38

So, I'm thinking this could possibly be my mucus plug now cos it keeps coming through the day. Just been toilet again and there was more of the same as the pic in the original post... is it possible to lose it in bits rather than one big blob. Also, there's no blood or pink in it. Just pale yellowy colour.

Looks like baby is on its way! How exciting

Upinthenightagain · 14/06/2024 19:50

I don’t think so. Just increased discharge. Mucus plugs are more plug like and blood tinged

Mummyof2beautifulb · 14/06/2024 20:48

@tobeornottobe1 i have heard though, this can go on for weeks... I hope not though!

I know but your 3rd with cramping pains,, bloody show,. Sounds like bubs is coming, 🤞

Sunshineclouds11 · 14/06/2024 20:52

I've been induced twice so never got to loose mucus plug but my friends looked like this and her baby was born later that day!

LondonFox · 14/06/2024 20:58

DailyEnergyCrisis · 14/06/2024 06:41

That looks like amniotic fluid- I’d get checked out.

Unless you are severely dehydrated to a point of hospitalization, your amniotic fluid should be colourless fluid.
Not yellow chunk of gunk.

This could be dischàrge but if you are cramping my bet would be that baby will come before the thread is shut😉

HelpMePlan1 · 14/06/2024 20:59

Ooo a live birth thread? 😁👏🏻

TheShellBeach · 14/06/2024 21:02

That's not your waters but it is the plug.

If it's now tinged with pink and you've got backache, you're probably going into labour.

Good luck!

Mummyof2beautifulb · 15/06/2024 09:16

I'm still pregnant 🤣 I'll let you all know if there's anymore updates. Thank you everyone for your input. 🩷
