Your signs that labour was close?

37 weeks pregnant and over the past 2 days I think I have lost some or all of my mucus plug and it is extremely painful down below to walk anywhere, its a mixture between pressure and a bruised feeling. Could these be signs labour isn't too far away?

What were your signs that, in hindsight, indicated labour was close?

This probably isn't what you want to hear, but for me I thought I had lost some of the mucus plug and that the baby was low (lots of pressure down below, very uncomfortable) for weeks and weeks at the end of my pregnancy and nothing happened. She ended up being 9 days over with no new signs in the days before she was born. In fact, I was at maternity triage on the foetal monitor and the midwife said it looked like I was having contractions even though I didn't feel anything at all! In the end, they did a stretch and sweep that broke the waters but said that I would have gone into labour that night anyway. I spent so long trying to analyse every tummy pain and poo to see if it could suggest labour approaching but in the end there was nothing. It was very frustrating haha but everyone is different so who knows what it will be like for you? Wishing you all the best and I promise the end is in sight! 😊

I’ve heard diarrhoea is a common one too- how glamorous it is being pregnant!

did anyone lose their mucus plug over a series of days rather than in one go? It’s happened twice when I’ve woken up in the morning. It’s not tinged with blood but it is very jelly like which is why I don’t think it’s discharge

Period type pain really .. plus an urge to clean everything

Being restless and hungry. I've lost my plug so many times now and it just comes back it's grim. It can re grow. I'm 37+5 now and feel a lot of pressure and when she moves it takes my breath away. Lots of back ache so wondering if she's getting ready. I hate this part as you spend your whole day wishing it was today you go into labour and then nothing happens!

38+3 and have been having period pains for days. I was like this with my first two, it's so frustrating 😭

Cleaning. Every time. I had this obsession with cleaning and I don't usually clean.

I cleaned our walls before baby came 😂

I had cramps for 3-4 days then they turned into mild sporadic contractions. Then it was Labour and I just knew from the pain. It got worse and worse. But in an exciting way.

i had a sweep and 2 hours later the full contractions started. 14 hours later baby was out.
