Hello,
Just curious if there are other mums on here 40+ who are currently pregnant?
How are you feeling?

Hi I am 40 and 38 weeks pregnant via IVF have had a pretty uneventful pregnancy no symptoms in beginning at all. Now just a bit sore and uncomfortable but all professionals have been happy with mine and babies progress so far.

lizziecat1 · 10/06/2024 18:28

47 and about 5 weeks pregnant.
So very, very early days, and I'm not even letting myself think more than a few days ahead yet.
Got an early scan on Thursday (as I've had 2 missed miscarriages) - fully expecting there to he nothing there at all.

I'm either very realistic, or just in complete denial!

How about you?

Busyhedgehog · 10/06/2024 18:46

I'm 41 and currently 34 weeks with ivf transfer attempt number 6. 😊
It's taken quite a while. DS I already 7 and we've been ttc for ages.
I was feeling awful during the first trimester but I was on a really high dose of progesterone. Been better since I stopped the medication.
Apart from that, the pregnancy has been fine and my OB/GYN has been happy so far. I've gained less weight than with the last pregnancy and I'm trying to stay more active. Getting tired quite quickly by now, though. Going on a bike ride with DS on the weekend was hard work...

I’m 44, 30 weeks, natural conception, feeling ok generally, usual tiredness on my feet, heartburn etc. Feel worse in the evenings. No worse than previous pregnancies

Cinai · 10/06/2024 18:58

I’m 41 and 26 weeks pregnant with my first. It’s been a smooth ride so far, if anything, I feel more energetic than before pregnancy.

Marchbug · 10/06/2024 19:04

41 and nearly 31 weeks, feel like a big knackered old thing but otherwise all is well 🤣🤣

justanotherlaura · 10/06/2024 19:43

I'm 40 and 35 weeks pregnant, I'm more tired this pregnancy and ready for it to be over but that's having a 19 month old to run after this time!

Kimbychick · 10/06/2024 19:48

I'm 41 and pregnant with my 5th (natural conception) although I had 2 missed miscarriages while trying for this one. My other children are 2, 5, 9 and 12 🥰 x

lola8319 · 13/06/2024 00:28

I´m 41 and this is my second pregnancy, I had a MC last August, currently 11+4. Natural conception. My symptoms have eased a bit. Dealing with medical appointments and tests. Next week I´ll have my 2 week scan, a bit anxious about it.

nats2010 · 13/06/2024 01:53

Hello OP
41 here. Just had baby 9 weeks ago. Fifth pregnancy. Have a 20 month old. Angel baby Nov.2021. Two.teenagers 18 and 15. All pregnancies I have been very sick and needed antisickness medication. Also low haemoglobin so needed iron infusion for two pregnancies.
Its definitely harder when you're older, but it's such a joy to have them and they grow so quick. It's realising that your life changes in a lot of ways and your independence isn't just the same. I find that the hardest thing for me to cope with despite the tiredness lol
All the best OP. I wouldn't wish my life any different and would go through all of my pregnancies again to get to the end point of having the wee baby in your arms. Best feeling in the world x

GreatMintPeer · 13/06/2024 13:11

48, 8 weeks now.
Still in shock about it all because of the circumstances, and trying not to bond too much too soon, but am quietly excited.
I’m feeling really tired and nauseous a lot of the time. Can hardly keep my eyes open half the day. Hearing the heartbeat was much more emotional than I remembered it being 16 years ago when I was pregnant with my son. Powering through!

WolfMother326 · 15/06/2024 19:54

Ah so nice to hear from so many mums 40 and over ❤️

I just turned 40 in March and I'm due 4 September with baby number 2. I've definitely found this pregnancy more tiring but I also have a 3 year old to look after so maybe it's just that. So far no issues in this pregnancy but I'm waiting on my glucose test results.

I hope your scan goes well. I had a MC last summer too. I know how anxious it can be, hopefully this time around is better for you x

So glad it happened for you. I was also on lots of progesterone, happy to be off it now. I second that it's good to stay active, although harder to keep up with my son on his bike these days at least he's learning to stop and wait for me!

41 and 16 weeks, I also have a 15 month old. I'm exhausted but not really surprising as my son wakes between 4 and 5am every day and I returned to work in the early stages of this pregnancy. Just getting through each day at a time!

WolfMother326 · 17/06/2024 07:26

Wow @Whywhwhy that sounds really exhausting (but also exciting!). Hope you manage to get some naps in.

@Lemonbell sending you good luck that this one sticks

@WolfMother326 hey I'm 43 be 44 in July I'm 38 weeks pregnant having a c section next week , I have 2 teenagers so this was a shock ! But the pregnancy has been fine just the first trimester was difficult hormones everywhere and obviously high risk for most test and nhs behind on scans so it's worrying in the beginning think I had the all clear I was around 16 weeks as my scans were behind etc , I had my 12 week scan I was nearly 14 weeks and then it automatically come back high for downs etc because of age so then you have the nipt and have to wait for results etc so it's just the first few weeks are worrying and you can't enjoy it . So yes if you can afford a private nipt early on that would save a lot of worry . But my pregnancy in general no different from my last one 16 years ago

WolfMother326 · 17/06/2024 08:40

@nice2 glad everything came back clear for you and you've been able to feel good later in the pregnancy. The first few months are so stressful with the extra testing and risk factors. I had the NIPT test too. I wish it was just standard on NHS as it creates so much worry getting the high risk result purely due to age!

Hello! Just turned 41 and am 17+6 weeks. Second pregnancy after losing my first a few years ago.

I'm just bloody exhausted and nauseous all. the. time. I don't know how people keep jobs and just manage to do it! Hoping it clears up soon and I get to the "glowing" part of the 2nd trimester that the articles talk about!!

Nibletmum · 19/06/2024 15:48

Hey, I'm. 42 and 26 weeks with baby no 4. Completely unplanned but welcome surprise! All going well no real difference to the others apart from they want me to have daily clexane injections from week 28 because of age. Not too happy about that idea!

Chelle2406 · 23/10/2024 14:17

Hi, I turned 40 this year and just yesterday found out I'm pregnant. I'm kind of still in shock, I just didn't think it would happen and I'm so scared and nervous because of my age. I also had a miscarriage 4 years ago and this is the first time I've conceived since. I honestly gave up hope, but now I'm pregnant and struggling to believe it. I guess I'm just looking for some positive stories. I haven't told anyone yet, not even my partner 😕 I want this pregnancy to go so well but I'm so scared
