Hiya
I'm getting very anxious and upset as I've tested positive for COVID today with temp spiking up to 39.2/102.6 today. Taking paracetamol every 4 hrs but it's not really working. Called out of HR gp and they said just take water and paracetamol. I'm so scared for baby. I've also noticed a brown spotting today but that was after I did a big vomit so not sure if that pushed old blood out. Plz I need positive stories from mommies who had similar situation and went on to have health babies and pregnancy.

Sorry not quite the same situation but I had Covid around 25weeks pregnant and he’s now a healthy 7 month old :)

I caught covid twice when I was pregnant with my second (teacher, teaching in 2021/22, not allowed to work from home). I was scared too but It didn’t affect my pregnancy or labour. My baby is nearly two and is perfectly healthy. Get lots of rest and stay hydrated.

Hi OP I had covid at 4/5 weeks pregnant with my first in 2022. Felt so ill I didn’t realise I was pregnant! Went on to have a totally textbook pregnancy, birth and my boy is a healthy 16 month old now. Hope that’s reassuring, wishing you all the best!

My friend had Covid at 7 weeks in 2021. Baby was healthy and is coming up for 3 now.

Had covid badly at 25 weeks, and baby is now 1 and completely fine. The worst bit is only having paracetamol. It didn't even touch the sides as they say.

Keep an eye on the spotting. It's normal to have some spotting. If you have cramping, backache, or red blood, call your epu. But even then it may all be OK.

I had bleeding throughout and a massive bleed at 21 weeks. It's not always bad news. Saying this with as much compassion and understanding for your anxiety regarding baby as I can.

Sleep, paracetamol and fluids are the best things you can do. I found that pukka manuka honey, lemon and ginger tea helped soothe my throat slightly and if tried hard enough I could almost pretend it was a lemsip.

I think it’s very common; most people wouldn’t even know they have Covid. GP can’t do anything, just keep fluid up. Brown spotting usually fine but keep an eye if it gets heavier, I had spotting during my current pregnancy and all fine

So I didn't get a high temp but I did get covid when I was 17 weeks (never vaccinated) back in 2021. Had barely any symptoms - only tested because a colleague was poorly and tested positive. It was actually when I was isolating during this that I felt his first kick! Caught covid again after pregnancy when baby was a couple of months. Again, really mild symptoms. We didn't test baby but we assume he had it too as both DH and I did.
I also had bleeding during pregnancy - at 6 weeks I think, then again at 10. All the way through pretty much I had brown spotting, but these two times I had actual period-like blood, and quite a lot! It was awfully scary.
My son is now nearly 2 and a half!

I had covid, around 18 weeks ended up in hospital with covid pneumonia, and blood clots on the lungs. Had to jab myself with blood thinners for the rest of the pregnancy but she’s a happy healthy almost 3year old x

Im currently 29 weeks with Covid. Symptoms are sore throat, runny nose/heavy cold, dry skin, cough and headache. On day 7/8 now and it does stick around, but have managed with paracetamol. Not very nice but baby is fine and good for their immunity. Sleep and rest, see your midwife or MAU if you're worried

WolfMother326 · 14/06/2024 17:06

I had covid at 7 weeks, it was wretched but the baby is ok. Now 28 weeks. Hope you are taking good care of yourself ♡

Nejnej · 14/06/2024 20:36

Positive story here - had COVID at 6 and 32 weeks pregnant. 6 weeks was the first time I caught it and felt very rough!

He's now 18 months and I had no COVID related issues in pregnancy or postpartum! Hope all goes well OP, the double whammy of COVID and first trimester was miserable
