All my embryos arrested on Day 3

Hi all,

I am really disappointed today as I heard all my 3 embryos arrested on day 3. I have never had this before as I have always had a top quality embryo and a good to fair quality embryo on all the 3 cycles. I had an early miscarriage following my recent fresh transfer so decided to change country for my 4th retrieval cycle. The embryologist said that the endoplastic reticulum was at the centre of my oocytes which may have stopped them from diving which wasn’t really convincing to me and all 3 embryos being arrested on the same day sounds so unlikely. I know I am not an expert but I am so disappointed that I am starting to think if something went wrong during ICSI or in the culture. My husband had sperm retrieved using TESA so I am so surprised that they didn’t go past day 3. Has anyone came across such a thing?

I don't have an answer I'm afraid or even an opinion on why it's happened. I'm so sorry as it's devastating.

@Wanttobemamma Often they say not making it past day 3 suggests an egg issue. Its possible to have good and bad cycles, so it may just be a once off. You could consider going back to previous clinic / protocol?

First cycle, got a call on day 3
1 top quality and two good quality- was meant to got for a fresh transfer today but got a call to cancel as all 3 eggs seem to have stopped growing- going to check tomorrow but seems highly unlikely this will change- I don’t understand what happened anyone been through similar?

@Chanty1985 I am really sorry to hear that. It’s so frustrating and I completely understand as it happened to me very recently. It might be worth checking if there is male factor as the embryo growth after day 3 is dependent on sperm quality. I hope it works out for you!
