Symptoms and body changes in 1st trimester

im coming up to 10 weeks pregnant and just wondered what everyone’s experiences are with their symptoms or how their bodies are feeling or changing in the first trimester.

i almost have like a dull period pain sensation and slight pulling or tugging in my lower abdomen here and there, usually on my left hand side. My boobs are swollen and slightly tender. Certain foods have made me sick but otherwise nausea isn’t a massive issue just now. I have been very tired and not so motivated the last week and I’m a lot more emotional already!! Slight lower back pain and slight headaches occasionally. I’m also feeling bloated constantly but drinking plenty of water and I have a pretty healthy diet.

Hey 👋🏽 interesting to hear your symptoms.
The first 4 weeks I had nothing. Then the morning sickness started. Followed by sore boobs but more bruised and achey rather than sore nipples that I see the majority talk about. I’m now 10 weeks and I have had the worst headache this morning. As well as noticing I have to pee more often. From 5 weeks I have to eat a lot more! I have also noticed have to drink more water if not I get so thirsty. I also think I am maybe showing a little bit, I feel I’ve gained a lot if weight and feeling a bit self conscious . At this stage i know it won’t be baby but the sack itself is full of fluid plus my own water retention and bloating May be attributing. What about you can you notice a difference in shape?

It’s really nice to hear someone else’s experience who is roughly at the same stage as myself..
i am suffering a lot with bloat, which is also making me feel self conscious!! I’m looking forward to having a bump instead of the bloat!!
I have been getting quite sharp but short headaches occasionally, peeing ALOT too and drinking a lot more water than usual.
i have been getting like a dull ache in the outer side of my left side of my bum and thigh, mostly at night time and morning or when I’ve rest for a little while. It’s not painful but more uncomfortable.
im looking forward to my first scan which is 27th June. When is yours?x

@EmmaLou91x So sorry I never replied! I’ve hardly been on here! Congratulations to you!
my first scan is next week 25th so yours must be a week today!!! I’m so looking forward to it!
We worked out atm due date being 2nd Jan from LMP I’ve been told they measure and confirm this at the scan! I assume yours is Jan too?
how are you getting in with symptoms? - my sickness is starting to ease! I most definitely have a big round belly my work place was shocked after I told them last week and wore a “normal” top and said how on earth did you hide that! I’m not w skinny girl but not large i am genuinely a size 12 (of course definitely in a 14 and have had to buy maternity bottoms now)
what about you? Xx

@Newmumtobe2025 aww no worrie, I haven’t been on here much either. And thank you, congratulations to you too!! I hope your scan goes well, mines is next Thursday, I’ve been counting down the days all month haha at the moment they are saying mine is due on 6th jan 25 but like you said, find out more precisely at the scan. I do have a bit of a rough d tummy now, I usually go gym a fair amount and around a size 8 but everything is way too tight now!! I wasn’t sure if it was bloat or the baby showing but everyone says baby 😂 I tend to feel sick when I’m hungry but otherwise okay, my boobs are massive and a little sore, little headaches here and there but nothing major, mild cramping now and again in my lower abdomen. Think that about it.. are you excited for your scan and that you can tell people at work about it? Good luck on your first scan xx

This is lovely! Our due dates will be the same week!! Crazy!
I was fairly fit and used to run a lot but calmed down a bit about 6 months prior to falling, not for any reason I just went off it a bit. I won’t be running now but I am goi to start Pilates as it’s good to keep active they say.
I’ve had very similar symptoms to you to be fair.
so I randomly took myself into my managing directors office on Monday and told! It was very random as wanted to do after the scan and come in with a letter ect but it’s my first baby I really want Hay scan day to be very special and to be in the moment and not worry about telling work after. Some people wouldn’t worry but I did personally as there have been a few changes in the workplace so felt it hanging over me. I am so glad I did and I can’t wait until Tuesday next week.
The Tuesday just gone we shared the news with our freinds and extended family too. Both are parents and siblings knew straight away.
what about you when are you planning on sharing your lovely news 😊

EmmaLou91x · 21/06/2024 17:21

@Newmumtobe2025 awwww this is so lovely!! I really hope your scan goes well, I am excited for mine too now!! Let me know how you get on.
i bet it’s a relief that your work knows now by the sounds of it. It’s actually me on my own having the baby and it’s my first too, I didn’t think I could ever have kids but I always wanted one so this was a shock to me so I told my mum and siblings as soon as I found out and all so supportive. I’m 33 so feel like this is my only chance so I hope all goes smoothly.
it’s nice to speak to someone where we are both at very similar stages, sounds like literally a few days between each other!!
pilates sounds good, I’m planning on going back to the gym for a couple classes as I have t been for a month or so now and I’m eating a lot of rubbish 😂
im pleased that your family all know and are excited for you. Really hope it all goes smoothly xx
