14 weeks and still feeling so sick

Actually think I feel worse now than I have done ever. What's going on? Has anyone else continued to feel sick for this long.

Sorry to have to tell you this but my morning sickness continued until I was almost at 3rd trimester. However, didn't get any heartburn at all so what goes around comes around. Hope you are luckier than me and feel better soon.

Hope you feel better soon, but I seem to have been unlucky and am still sick most days at 25 weeks, it's a real pain...

There are some things your GP can give you that are safe during pregnancy, so you could give them a try- they've not sorted me out completely but they do help a bit.

I stopped feeling sick at around 15 weeks - so maybe it's about to stop !! Fingers crossed !

I'm just over 14 weeks too and have been feeling dreadful for the last few weeks - I think I got off lightly in the early days so this is my punishment! I find mine is much worse in the evenings (just when all the cookery shows are on TV) and throughout the night which makes it difficult to sleep with all the churning. I have found however that the eating something (however small) every 2 hours and before bed even if I have to swallow hard to get it down helps a bit - here's hoping we see an improvement soon

I can give you a good giggle though... my MIL has had no sympathy for my nausea and vomitting the last few weeks - she had 3 boys and continued to work as a dentist until the day she gave birth - you know the type? Well she came round for a chinese on saturday evening and told me to eat something as I was starving the baby so I forced some food down and proceeded to chuck up all over teh sofa right in front of her about a half hour later - sorry I shouldn't laugh but I felt much better I think she believes how ropey I feel now lol

Glad to see their are others in the same boat as me I am 12 weeks and my sickness is also getting worse.

I am losing my mind a little more each day and I can't remember what its like to feel normal and on top of all this I have a nearly 2 year old.

I think it really helps to talk to others who are going thru it cos MS is a feeling like no other.

I agree Gem - it's as if it's expected that you should just cope with MS and not moan because you are pregnant 'what did you expect!'I can almost hear people saying to me. But when you are in the throes of constant nausea and regular vomitting it is a really awful and debilitating feeling - I have hardly been out the last couple of weeks as most of my/our socialising from friends evolves around eating which I just can't face at the moment. In fact I can't face going out much at all without a carrier bag at my side - I even wretched at my hospital appt last week in my faithful carrier bag whilst waiting in a hot sweaty waiting room for over an hour and a half! DH looked after me though and I quickly got to see the Ob.

What is everbody eating by the way? What are you managing to keep down?

The only thing I seem to really be able to drink is quite strong Ribena and San Peligrino sparkling water. Foodwise too much toast, tomato soup and oddly the odd tuna salad with lots of advocado....oh I can also stomach dry pitta bread but not hummous (which I usually love)

I'm almost 13 weeks and still really suffering. I'm also having horrible headaches most days.

The things that I can keep down are crumpets, white crusty bread, watermelon, full fat yogurt and oven chips! I normally eat really healthily, but I can't keep anything else down. Vegetables in particular come straight back.

None of my friends who have had babies have had anything like this and I don't think they really understand, which makes it worse. i.e. "yeah, I felt a bit sick too, but you've got to try to eat better". I would if I could!

I really hope the end is in sight...

With my first I was sick all day and every day up until the day he was born which was the first time I had felt ok in 8 months!!

Its strange with me

I can eat most things but i CANNOT eat what I have eaten the day before if that makes any sense.

If I had cottage pie last night for example -god help me if I go anywhere near it today as I would be sick.

I am finding sparkling water helps.

All i can handle in the morning is dry toast but I feel really groggy/dizzy until about lunchtime, sometimes I even have the whirlies (you know that feeling you get when you have drank to much and your head starts to spin when you try and go tot sleep?)

I did go through a phase of craving prawn cocktail but that passed.

Sorry if this depresses you, sick from 6-20ish wks. Had a few good weeks 24-28wks. Started going downhill again at about 30wks. 32wks now and feeling very queasy. Not quite as bad as the early days but have a suspicion it will get worse. Never mind, on the final stretch now. Bland food was good for me - Smash, rice pudding and lemonade ice lollies. Full fat coke a Godsend, let it go flat if too harsh for your delicate tum. the sugar really helos. Hope You are better soon

sorry to tell you this, but I was sick every single morning until 32 weeks. wish someone had told me that it could last that long as every thing you read says it lasts about 12 weeks!!! - you have my sympathies

Jane7 - I hope my tale cheers you. With DD 1 I had sickness from 6 weeks. I prayed for the 12 week mark so it would stop. At 12 weeks it started to get worse, peaked at 14 and was horrible until 17 when it stopped suddenly and never returned.

Jane7 - I found that with each pregnancy the sickness started earlier and lasted longer - by my fourth pregnancy it started at 5 weeks and continued past 30 weeks . Hope you feel better soon!

I had awful sickness with DS2 which lasted all day not just the morning. It got better at about 14/15 weeks though thank goodness, so there is hope for you .

What I did find helped was eating sour gummy sweets, cola bottles that kind of thing. Hope it stops soon.

I hate to say it, but I was horribly ill with DD1 till about 16 weeks.

Then I immediately developed awful heartburn which became acid reflux.

Hope you are luckier than I am.

I feel so sorry for you ..not only are you feeling rotten but you came on here hoping to be told oh dont worry it will stop any day now ....and instead here we all are saying sorry it doesnt.

I am afraid to say I concur I had a green tinge for the whole 9 months

Hopefully you will get a few months at least where you can have a more enjoyable pregnancy..

oh god, not sure whether to feel comforted or concerned that this may continue for my entire pregnancy! In fact, today I feel a bit better, something approaching human which is reassuring. Thank you to everyone who posted. And I agree with the sparkling water thing. My latest drink is lime cordial with sparkling water, lots of ice and slices of lemon. It's so delicious and refreshing and when I've finished it, I suck the lemon for as long as possible. My DH laughs at me sitting on the sofa sucking a lemon, but it truly seems to keep nausea at bay - at least while i'm doing it.

I sympathise. With my DS I was sick from 5 weeks up until 18 weeks, and then it vanished suddenly - I literally went to bed sick and woke up the next day not sick and was never sick again. I'm 6 weeks pregnant now and the sickness has just kicked in in the last few days and I had forgotten just how dreadful it is. I have just had to delay giving DS his dinner because I am alone in the house and am retching so badly every time I try to dish up I have to leave it for now Hopefully you are pretty close to the end of it now...

Jane7 glad you have had a better day today. I hope this is the start of your blooming stage.
I have had felt comforted reading this thread at least there is hope it will end.
I truly understand what you are going thru. I am 17 weeks pregnant and am still in the thros of the worst imaginable ms. I am constantly nauseous and retch and heave all day long. However, I am only vomiting a few times a week now compared to three or four times a day at the start. It has completely changed my life and I can not wait to feel normal again. I have been unable to work since mid january, I find it impossible to drive without pulling over all the time. I also have a ds who is 3.
It is a total nightmare, unfortunately I have not found anything that stops the nausea but am finding gaviscon helps a little. I am thinking of all you ms sufferers out there. x

Sorry don't want to be the bearer of bad news but I am 30 weeks and still have sickness (I cannot call it morning sickness as I was sick on the way home from work last week!!) as well as that I have appalling heart burn too.

A temp midwife recommended that I keep biscuits in bed to eat when I wake up to go to the loo in the night - until I explained that I hadn't been going to the loo in the night yet [smug emoticon]

Then I got lectured on my pelvic floor muscles being slack

Am now 14 weeks it’s my first pregnancy and I have never felt so sick... I even lost weight and I can hardly keep anything down it’s slowly driving me insane as I don’t know how to cope with all this...
