Horrible symptoms whilst on holiday

I’m currently on day 6 of a 10 day trip to a hot Mediterranean country. Temp is averaging 33 degrees. I’m 18 weeks pregnant at the moment.

I was feeling fine up until yesterday when my feet became really swollen and the tiredness kicked in. This morning I’ve got a bit of a headache and just feeling so sluggish and slow. Even walking up the stairs has me out of breath! I’ve not been sleeping well admittedly as I’m sharing a bed with my 2 year old and he repeatedly wakes me up throughout the night. Also with an active toddler I’ve not really had a moment to relax or rest. Maybe it’s all just getting on top of me.

I’m just wondering if this sounds normal? I’ve never been on holiday whilst pregnant so I don’t really know how a pregnant body responds to heat. I’m now worried about pre-eclampsia as my symptoms are kind of similar.

Any advice? Currently lying down with my feet up.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Hows your hydration? I was on holiday last week at 19 weeks pregnant and the heat absolutely wiped me out.

Drink an absolute fuck ton of water, keep your feet up (or dipped in a cold pool) and try for an afternoon nap, keeping out of the sun 1-3 ish.

Hi
I went to Mykonos when I was 20 weeks pregnant. The heat definitely makes you more tired and you need to make sure you are drinking LOADS. I also did more walking which meant my feet were more swollen and also I had terrible round ligament pain. Just try and take it easy your last couple of days and please get those fluids in! X

Thank you for your replies!

I definitely haven’t been drinking enough, if I’m honest. I’ve really tired today to up my water intake and I already feel way better. Feet still swollen but the restaurant I’m at have kindly given me a bucket of cold water😂
