Hi all,

So I'm sorry for the stupid post but it's been about 6 years since I had my first and can't fully remember.

I'm 31 weeks along with little one and for the past week I've had what seems like an awful flu bug (thankfully only a cough and stuffy nose now). I haven't been sleeping great, however I woke up yesterday around 5am and had to use the bathroom quite a lot, I can't explain it but it felt like baby had moved down and I just could t shake the thought that little one will be coming soon. He's become very active as well.
This morning I woke up having to use the bathroom in the same manner (body can't seem to hold onto anything liquid or solid right now) my bump feels heavy and tender and my first thought this morning was I need to stay home.
Am I just being paranoid or is my body getting ready for an early arrival?

Thank you guys in advance

Have you tested for COVID? Some people get gastro symptoms with that... Just with you mentioning bad flu made me wonder.

It's not beyond the realms of possibility that it's something starting up - I'd give your midwife a call and run it by her. It's one of those things that random internet people can't really help with much! Hope you're ok though! Good luck.

@SnookyPook
Thank you, I did a covid test within the first two days of getting sick but it came back negative. However my partner is now sick too.
I know it's stupid to worry as I'm only 31 weeks along but I just can't shake the feeling that little one is going to be here before 35 weeks

It's an unsettling time. I'm actually 30+4 myself and was told at our last growth monitoring scan (due to him being 3rd centile) that baby's growth had stalled a bit. They've told me that if his growth hasn't picked up at the next scan a week today, that they may want him out around 33/34wks. That really shocked/scared me initially but I've had time to process it now and I know they wouldn't do it unless it was best for the baby. We're both at a gestation where if something were to happen, like preeclampsia or waters going etc, our little ones already have a great chance. I've been doing some reading on prem babies and honestly there is a lot to be hopeful for at this stage!

FWIW, two of my nieces came at 34wks and are both thriving. One starts school this September and is bright as a button 🥰

Saying that, it's still most likely just a bit of a tummy bug you've got so try not to worry too much. 💕

@SnookyPook
I can't imagine how scary that must have been to hear. I hope everything goes well for you and baby 🩷🧡

@SnookyPook
That's also amazing to hear about your nieces.
I know it sounds ridiculous but in my head I was preparing to meet little one in 9 weeks and the possibility of meeting him sooner is scary, I feel like I'm not fully ready

I had this a few weeks ago it was covid. I had explosive dirreah right before a 4 hour train journey I was 34 weeks then.
I'm now 37 and and I'm ok.
It came out of no where I thought I had a cold or bad hay fever until that started. It was horrendous cleared up after like 2 days. All ok now though and still heavily pregnant now sweating cobs in this heat!.
