Hi everyone,

I am new to this website so please bare with me.

I recently discovered that cryptic pregnancies are a thing, and over the past few days I’ve experienced rumbling, bubbling and pulsating in my stomach. If I was to be pregnant I would be 6 months along, and I have just now began to experience these symptoms (over the past 2 days). Usually I would think nothing of this, but as it has been constant I have began to grow extremely concerned. I am 17 years old and I have been having regular periods over the past few months , therefore pregnancy is not something that has crossed my mind until I discovered the existence of cryptic pregnancies . However, my period is currently a few days late and I think that is what sparked the worry, even though I have engaged in no sexual activity in 6 months.

The only other things I have experienced over the past few months which could possibly be symptoms from what I have researched are: occasional short sharp pain in my stomach, back pain (only once or twice), slightly sensitive n¡pples and bloating. I bloat very easily so this hasn’t been a concern until now.

I was wondering if anyone could please be kind enough to offer some wisdom and / or advice, I’m really panicking and I dont know what to do. I’ve only told one person about this and they aren’t sure how to help me either. Of course the easiest thing to do would get a pregnancy test, but I don’t have an income of any kind and also no access to money (this is not me asking for donations). If I am pregnant my mum will never look at me the same and the father (my ex) will just dislike me even more.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much.

I think that you know this is unusual and realistically it is very unlikely that you are pregnant, however I know what it is like to get an idea in your head that you can't shift without some evidence so you are going to need to do a test.
Make an appointment to see the nurse at your local gp surgery. They will be able to test your urine for you.

I think it's very, very unlikely that you are pregnant from what you've said - however, it's also clear that you need to have you mind put at rest by confirming this with a pregnancy test.

You don't need to buy one. Instead, use google to find your nearest sexual health clinic and take yourself there tomorrow (most will offer some form of queue and wait clinic). It will be free and 100% confidential (so no chance of your mum finding out) and will give you the peace of mind you're after.

You can't be pregnant if you haven't engaged in sexual activity for six months.

I don’t think you are pregnant. But I think the only way you’ll shake the idea is by doing a test. As previous poster said you can have one for free and confidentially at any sexual health clinic. Alternatively, if you are able to get hold of £1, then most pound shops sell a basic pregnancy test.
