Pregnant but spotting/bleeding

Hi, just looking for anyone who can tell me of their similar experiences.

I thought I’d started my period yesterday, very light (as it usually would be on day 1) but it wasn’t quite ‘normal’, almost too light, and it was a 5 days earlier than expected. Basically not much has come of it at all, which is really (really) odd for me, I think I’m around 11/12/13DPO.

Curiosity got the better of me and I have just done a digital test and it’s showing as pregnant 1-2 weeks, I’m stunned, this is a very very wanted pregnancy, but I can’t help but worry. Today I’ve had the same as yesterday, I’d say maybe a little lighter again.

I’ve have some on and off mild back ache and I’m bloated but nothing else, I actually feel tons better than day one of a period.

I have been pregnant twice before, one resulting in a lovely healthy toddler and another a MMC at 12 weeks, I didn’t have anything like this with either of them.

Do I need to contact my GP? Feeling extremely nervous. Any experiences (good or bad) appreciated.

I’m sorry about your Mmc 🤍

I had on and off spotting/ bleeding with my second pregnancy, combined with awful bloating and terrible back pain but thankfully my baby is here and a very healthy 2 month old!

Spotting/ bleeding can be a sign of implantation or old blood. You might have an irritated cervix, especially if you’ve had sex recently.

Id keep an eye on the bleeding, if it gets heavier or accompanied by intense pains then I’d contact your early pregnancy unit.

My bleeding started at 5 weeks, epu couldn’t scan me until I was 6 weeks as they were unlikely to see anything so wouldn’t be able to confirm anything but they did book me the appointment at 5 weeks.

Thank you and congratulations on your baby! Tentatively I’m going to whisper that it seems to have eased off a little. Will be ringing the doctors to see if they can offer any advice, there is no change in flow since Saturday, if anything it’s probably a bit lighter which I hope is a good sign.

Let us know how you get on! I've bled with all my pregnancies. I bled more like period blood with my successful pregnancies and it was more like fresh blood with my MC :)

Fingers crossed for you! I had spotting and bloating with my ectopic pregnancy but it was really bad bloating, like waking me up in the night bloating, shouting for my husband in pain kind of bloating !! So as long as it's not like that I'm sure it's a normal pregnancy symptom
