Is this definitely a baby girl?!

Hello, first time mummy to be and thought I would ask on here for more opinions. I’m attaching potty shot from the scan. On a Facebook nub theory group some people are saying the legs are too close together to tell. Our sonographer seemed very sure though, and of course they were looking for much longer and so were we.

We only have this one screenshot. I can’t tell if the darker bit near the leg is boy bits? Really want to know as we want to start buying pink!

Thank you

Cannot choose?

It's a bloody newborn, it doesn't even know what colours are. It's not going to give a shit 😂😑

I have no idea but I thought they weren't supposed to say for sure one way or the other. My SIL was told her third (after two boys) was a girl. Thrilled to bits and as she herself is a fashion plate you can imagine what she immediately did.
Her baby son (particularly sour faced though looks good now) wore pink and dresses for the first three months 🤣.

Honestly, how many posters here who think this isn't an issue also see male partners not pulling their weight at home?

Gender stereotyping is damaging and it starts right now, before the child is even born.

We aren't going to free ourselves of it if we can't even notice it or challenge it.

I'm becoming less convinced over time that people do actually want to change it. Seems like we are slipping into an ever more divided and stereotyped world.

How is putting a baby girl in pink comparable to shitty husbands?

You need to get a grip.

Actually no I didn’t buy blue outfits for the boy! It was mostly white babygrows, a bit of yellow and green. Definitely didn’t buy any dresses or trousers or shirts. They wore babygrows for months and months!!

So what does he wear now

Bumblebeeinatree · 29/05/2024 10:26

Buy them boy and girl toys definitely. But I don't see anything wrong with a bit of pink on a girl baby and blue on a boy (even just to stop everyone asking!) as they get bigger any colour under the sun. It's just as much gendering to deliberately dress a boy like a girl or a girl like a boy just to show how progressive you are.

Congratulations OP!

But the posters talking about gender have a valid point, which is at least worth thinking about rather than laughing at.

Tcateh · 29/05/2024 10:31

Fgs I'm sick to death of petty shit.

Op I think girl. Congratulations and I hope you buy whatever you bloody well like.
Hey, when the baby is older it can choose for itself.

@Bumblebeeinatree please, explain why one should buy 'girls' and 'boys' toys definitely?

BeansGreens · 29/05/2024 11:43

I can't wait to have grandkids and stereotype the shit out of them 😂

JRTfan · 29/05/2024 15:22

Looks like mine that has been confirmed girl on private scan then again on 2 further scans with consultant so if she comes out a boy I'll be surprised!
On the stereotyping/gender note I'm not in to frilly dresses and bows but knowing we are having a girl has meant we have bought some feminine as well as some neutral clothes. My baby won't have a clue what it is in the first few years so I don't see why it matters at all.
My nephew is a boy born amongst many girls and was put in quite a few 'girly' hand me downs when he was little as well as having lots of dolls to play with..he's 11 now and very much in to football and cars..

supercalafragilisticexpealidocious · 29/05/2024 18:33

It's definitely a girl.

PixieTrance89 · 30/05/2024 09:51

Definite girl so buy all the pink you want and ignore the stupid comments 😂 I'm having another girl as well and I've bought loads of pink stuff, your baby, your choice

Underestimated4 · 31/05/2024 18:24

Looks like a girl to me I have a scan of my second daughters bits just like it

Grah · 31/05/2024 18:29

So you could listen to a trained professional who does this day in and day out or you could ask a whole set of randoms on line? 🤔🤣

sarah419 · 31/05/2024 19:25

omg so what? it’s her baby. Looks like a girl! Enjoy buying pink and dresses 😍
