25 weeks and sudden bone crushing exhaustion

I went to see a show in London on Saturday and thought it was just from that. I didn’t get home until 2am and my youngest woke at 6:30, so naturally I thought my chronic tiredness yesterday was because of that.

But I got a good nights sleep last night with a lie in this morning and I feel even worse. I’m talking it’s bone crushing, can barely keep my eyes open throughout the day, barely lift my arms and honestly I just don’t at all feel with it.

Could it still be from Saturday? I did travel 3 hours either way and rush (on foot) across London to make it in time. Or could it be something like low iron? I saw my midwife last week and everything was fine and when I check my app I can see my iron levels were fine at 9 weeks but of course that’s been some time a go now.

Covid? Made both my DH and I feel like that before it hit and we’ve not pregnant

I did spend last 4 weeks of pregnancy feeling like that too.

Your iron levels will definitely be lower than at booking -and you can feel rotten with a normal haemoglobin if your serum ferritin iron stores are low. Ask your midwife if they can test both next time you see them. I felt really grotty around the start of the third trimester when my iron stores dropped (restless legs, feeling faint, crying with exhaustion in the evenings).

The third trimester is also famously the weary bit! Worth telling your midwife how you feel.

Have you had blood sugar levels tested recently? Any other symptoms such as extreme thirst? I felt like that with gestational diabetes.

Get your iron levels checked! I has that. Was anaemia.
