Hey, I’m just after some advice.

Id been on the depo injection since July last year. I recently stopped the injection, my renewal was due 29th April. Which I didn’t go to.
I had a bleed 2 weeks prior to this date, but I don’t think it was a ‘period’.

Since Then, no periods as yet.

when did you conceive after coming off the injection?
how long did it take you?

I’ve heard mixed stories!

thanks
xx

I’m in a similar situation op. With dd I came off the depo, went on the pill for 9 or 10 months then conceived 2 months later. This time around I came off the depo end of last year (ran out in Dec) and only had my first period last month. That was 33 days ago now though and no sign of another on its way and deffo not pregnant (test all the time like a mad woman). I think it just varies annoyingly. Good luck x

I had depo after I gave birth and it completely messed up my hormones to the point where it affected my milk supply. I did some reading, and apparently it can take up to 9-18 months in some cases for fertility to return after stopping the contraceptive injection. Obviously it won't take that long for everyone, but I would prepare yourself that it could take a while for the effect of the injections to pass.

I came off depo in 2017 and didn't have any periods for about 3 months. Had horrendous, heavy on off bleeding for months after that which didn't seem to settle down so I went back to the doctor to get the pill, just because it was so bad. On the pill until March 2021. Finally pregnant by August 2023. If I was offered depo now, I wouldn't take it.
