Hi Everyone!

I am currently 14 weeks pregnant with my second child.

I ‘think’ I have been feeling movement since around 11 weeks, this last week it has been pretty full on to the point I think it’s causing nausea - is this normal?🥲

With my DC1 I had an anterior placenta so barely felt a thing until 20 weeks and I am finding this all quite strange, especially seeing as I have gained a lot of weight between pregnancies so I expected to feel less.

I have had my dating scan, which didn’t go great and they were unable to take all measurements so I am feeling quite deflated about that - has anybody been in the same position and decided to go private for NIPT test? Would you just wait for the quad? Feeling much more anxious this time

Baby is about the size of a satsuma 2/3inches so most likely not feeling movement but gas due to hormonal changes which also explains the nausea.
Sounds like a strong sticky one in there though which is reassuring.

Why couldn’t they take the measurements?

We had this issue with the measurements with our second child. After researching the quad test and discovering that it doesn't test for Edward's or Patau's, and that the error rate for Downs detection is quite high (false positives and false negatives), we chose to pay for a private NIPT.
