Birthday present for new mum?

My sister became a mother a week before her birthday! Her wife gave birth so sister not post-partum.

I'm really stuck for a present. She's not a girly girl, not into make up or fancy toiletries. I would normally buy her Lego or consumables like chocolate, wine, fancy deli stuff in jars but I'm not sure it's helpful with the sleep deprivation and current eating to survive situation.

Maybe some vouchers for Cook?

I always think the birthday present for new mum is a bit shit tbh, even more so if the person hasn't given birth. Just get her a present as you ordinarily would. The 'new mum' thing isn't relevant, she is still her own person.

Get her Lego for her birthday and a cook voucher for the baby

Sorry I didn't mean that to sound harsh at all. I'm just very mindful of not turning all adults into 'just' parents because they had a baby.

Speaking from experience of having a birthday straight after the birth of my son I would of wanted really nice pyjamas or lounge wear , voucher for a restaurant that does takeaway service , anything edible , nice socks or slippers .
Actually a treaty food hamper would be great one

I understand, and I want it to be a present for her, I just want to be mindful of her situation. She's holding a baby for half the day/night, she's not sleeping much, doing something fiddly might be really annoying in her sleep deprived state.

I just had a baby a few weeks ago. Things I would appreciate right now would be credit for my kindle (books too faffy to read one handed), vouchers for clothes as none of mine fit or just a treat for something to look forward to later on, like a meal out. Failing that I would love it if someone just bought me a normal, non-pregnancy related present to remind me Im not only a mum! All my Christmas presents were pg related or for the baby which I found annoying, I would have loved to receive a treat that reminded me of what I love.

Food hamper all the way is what I'd want in her shoes! Something with her favorite snacks or really easy to cook meals like fancy pasta sauces.

Loungewear is also a good idea, so she can feel good about not getting dressed all day 😊

Foody vouchers are good

Definitely nothing baby related; a Cook voucher or food hamper sounds great! I got a surprising amount of baby gifts for my birthday recently (4 months pregnant), I was pretty surprised / unimpressed

Thanks all

I have bought her some loungewear from Boody - joggers, shorts, vest and jumper. Hoping she likes it!

Also a lego keyring....
