Just as I'm writing this the cramps are disappearing but in pain all night haven't slept just wondering if anyone can shed any light is it false labour or Brixton hicks maybe ? baby is moving so not worried on that count but I've had constant cramps the last 4 ish hours feels like bad period cramps or pains you get when you have diarrhea they aren't coming and going just constant pain and my tummy isn't getting hard like you would expect with contractions. I will ring hospital in the morning just to see what they advise but just more so wondering could it be a sign baby might come early or just body getting ready for the big event maybe ? clueless FTM

It sounds like a digestion issue if your stomach isn't going hard.

Even when you have Braxton Hicks you can feel your abdomen go hard. It can feel like a rock! In my experience Braxton Hicks are not painful at all at the beginning, more like a muscle flexing on its own. For me towards the last few weeks they do start to hurt a little bit, sort of like mild period pain. But for a minute or so, then it stops for a few minutes, then a minute or so, etc. Actual labour contractions were unmistakable for me.

You might have eaten something bad. Hope you feel better soon.

It sounds like you should be calling the hospital now to discuss it. There are nurses there 24 hours a day. You don’t have to wait for office hours. This is your and your babies health. Don’t ask strangers on Mumsnet. Call for professional advice.
