Waxing in 3rd trimester

Is waxing safe in 3rd trimester? I don't want to go into labour with a full jungle down there.

I can hardly see over my tummy now to shave properly!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

This made me 🤣🤣 because I’m debating this aswell. I’m now hacking away and can’t see what state it’s in

I used cream on myself once and accidentally got rid of everything. The staff at the hospital were all snorting with laughter at it. I am not joking.
I think one of them made a very rude quip about sex work 😔 I never made that mistake again and kept my jungle! (And I have five kids so the bad feelings lasted a long time) . Top tip, just keep it!

You may find it more painful due to increased blood circulation and swollen thing.
If you have not seen it, in many cases it looks like small burger now :)

Shaving tips:
Have partner do it for you.
Put foldable mirror on needed height and do it yourself. Put towel on the floor to catch water, soap and hair.

I would not recomend cream as it is heavy chemical.

It's fine I had a Hollywood the day before my induction with both my babies.

Ladies, as a midwife I couldn't care if you're smooth as a peach or haven't removed a hair in 9 months 😁 whatever makes you feel comfortable

excitedmama2be · 17/05/2024 20:39

Yea Ul be fine
they just advise nothing after 36 weeks

mamahg · 17/05/2024 20:44

You'll be fine! I've always waxed when pregnant and I have a full body wax neck down everything removed just before my due date! Just take paracetamol before your appointment by about 20 minutes and don't shave 5-6 weeks before the appointment so they can get most of the hair off xx

redddssak · 18/05/2024 01:23

I brought an electric razor and its like mission impossible im 35 weeks nearly 36

Peonies12 · 18/05/2024 10:04

Only be careful if you’re close to due date, as it’s advised to not wax or shave close to having a C section.

I'd ask your midwife.
They usually ask you to stop at a certain point as hair regrowth can cause extra issues if you did have a c section.

I waxed throughout my pregnancy and was advised is completely fine but that you shouldn't wax too close to a c section. I personally am far more comfortable with no hair and have waxed every month for the last 10 years.

WeightoftheWorld · 18/05/2024 20:04

I always get waxed in the third trimester because I can't see myself to do it. It's fine, no more painful imo. I only get an extended bikini line done tho and I just blindly trim the rest or get DH to trim it.

What about 9 years? 🤣

RickyGervaislovesdogs · 18/05/2024 20:31

I’ve heard it hurts more, I’ve only waxed once in my life. I shave. I just find the combo of hair plus blood messier, so get rid of it personally.

Just do what makes you feel comfortable.
