@Re246 Is your bleeding like a normal period, or lighter? Light bleeding is very common in early pregnancy.

@Re246 It may be that you've experienced a chemical pregnancy, but its really hard to know. My thoughts would be if its like a period it may have just been a chemical pregnancy, but no one can say that for sure. Have you tried taking a pregnancy test again? If its negative I would assume a chemical pregnancy. But hcg can stay in your system after a pregnancy has ended. It should clear out of your system fairly quickly though if you've had a very early chemical pregnancy. Unfortunately most Early Pregnancy Units wont see you for a scan until you are at least 6 weeks pregnant, but you could always give them a call as they might be able to offer some advice over the telephone.

@Re246 There isn't a need to see a doctor unless you think it could be ectopic or something else going on. I'd still suggest doing another pregnancy test though when you're feeling up to it just to make sure. If its any help, I conceived my daughter after a chemical pregnancy x

If your period is due today then it's more than likely a chemical pregnancy as you tested before your period was due. I'm so so sorry. It's so hard. I miscarried at nearly 6 weeks earlier this year, I'd known for 2 weeks that I was pregnant. It was the hardest thing. You will feel better though, I promise. I don't want to give you false hope but look after yourself and try to have a bath and relax. It's hard but it will get better.

Please don't tell people that an early miscarriage is just a chemical pregnancy

You must have really woken up on the wrong side of bed to be mocking a woman who is potentially going through a miscarriage.

Thank you. I didn't take another test after the bleeding. It was so heavy, like a very long heavy period with clots so I just knew I'd miscarried. You might be different though as you're earlier along, has the bleeding slowed down? My EPU wouldn't see me til past 6 weeks and I was something like 5 weeks 5 days. But by the time I got to 6 weeks, I knew it was over so I didn't do anything but ride it out.

@Re246 Really do think you should take another test just to be a bit more certain x
