Hello,

Unfortunately I had a MMC in December and found out at a private scan at what should have been around 9 weeks but baby measured 6 weeks.

I'm now 7W2D and have a private scan booked for this weekend where I should be around 7W6D give or take.

I know some people go to scans and measure early as they got their dates wrong. I'm really hoping for clear cut answers at the weekend and no confusion with measurements.

Interestingly, I tested positive 4 days before my period was due with this pregnancy and didn't test positive until 14DPO with the first. I'm wondering if these few days difference in testing positive before my period means that I should be measuring correctly and not behind? If that makes sense?

Any experiences would be great! X

I was exactly 8 when I went and I saw heartbeat and the little blob
but went in with the expectation of if my dates were wrong I might not see much

Measurements can be a bit all over the place at such an early stage, also embryos implant and grown at different rates. I'm pregnant via IVF so know dates exactly but at 6 week scan was measuring 5 days ahead and at 8 week scan a further day ahead..so my due date is almost a week earlier than it technically should be.

Do you track ovulation with bbt? It’s hard to be accurate on dates otherwise so early scans can show a few days out either side. If you tested positive at 14dpo last time, but much earlier this time, it’s possibly a better sign of hcg levels doubling.
The early scan after a previous miscarriage is always so anxiety filled but is so worth doing (in my opinion) for the peace of mind. Best of luck!

On the 8 weeks scan, my first measured 8+4 days (ovulated on day 14) and my second 7+4 (ovulated on day 18). It was a strong heartbeat with both. I did track ovulation, so I knew these were right.
If you got a positive 4 days before your period, your calculations would most likely be right.

I also had a mmc before, but now I have a healthy 2 years old and 35 weeks pregnant with my second. I know how scary can be going to the scans after that experience.

I’d honestly go in without expectations, it’s very common for dates to be different as you could have implanted within a window of several days, and the measurements are so tiny at that stage. And it doesn’t really matter if it’s a few days out. But if everything’s ok you should seee a heartbeat!
