Hi All. Had a scan with Fetal Medicine this morning as I have Poly and GD. AFI has gone down thank god but baby is measuring on 98th percentile and I’m only 30+6. Since a growth scan 12 days ago everything has jumped up. They didn’t seem too concerned and said I’ll have another scan in 4 weeks but has anyone else been in same situation and had a big baby? Thank you!

My baby was around 75th centile ok scans towards the end of pregnancy, I was also having growth scans because of GD.

How is your GD control going? Are you still diet controlled or having to take metformin or insulin?
Hopefully if you can keep your sugar control tight then that will keep baby a healthy weight.

Thanks for replying. I’m on 4 metaformin a day, only since the weekend I’ve upped them though. It’s so hard as things I think are ok to eat aren’t. I spoke to my diabetes nurse this afternoon and he’s not concerned about putting me on insulin yet 🙄🫣

GD often gets harder to control as your pregnancy progresses and the placenta interferes with your body even more!
It's really tough. Hopefully being on more metformin will help.
Are you also drinking loads of water before/during each meal? I found this really helped slow the absorption of cards from my food

My child was 97%, turned out just fine. :)

Not particularly during but I’ll give anything a go thank you!

My baby was like 97 or 98th percentile. No GD, just a bigger baby. It all evened out after a few months and she's above average height now and average weight.

No GD but my baby was 99.6th, (still is, he's nearly 2) he was 10lb5oz. I had him at home (growth scan put him at 9lb3oz 😅) and it was fine, not even one stitch. He was my third but definitely an easier birth than his 8lb brother

Oh wow lol. This is my first but I have been told the bigger the baby the easier it is, but I’m not sure how much or that I believe 🤣
